Cheapo knife sharpeners?

I'm tired of buying knifes and scissors just for them to get dull a few months through the life span for opening packages. Especially in today's world where like every week you're opening some type of box. I was looking at something like this but don't know if the cheapo blade sharpeners are worth it wondering if anyone had experience with them.

at best they may inconsistently sharpen just one specific area on your knife, at worst, they won't do a thing apart from ruining your knives ofc. garbage either way imho
get a quality sharpening stone. with proper technique it won't take you long to sharpen your knives sp when doing it often, as they won't be completely dull.
im saying "knives" you only need a handful, depending on your needs ofc you could have no more than 3, for almost everything food/cooking related

I've never had much luck with that type of knife sharpener, maybe it's a skill issue, or maybe they just suck, but I've given up on them and now I use a "tool sharpening rod" thing and it works great. The original is called "accusharp" but I have some store brand knockoff and it works just fine. Whetstones are the best but they require skill, which I refuse to acquire don't have.

I'd recommend any sharpener like this, they cheap and work great on any knife, blade, as long as its not serrated.

Just get a utility knife, replacements blades are 10 cents each, and you can just flip the blade around if it gets dull.
the knife and 100 blades will only run you around $15-20

Some knife sharpeners come with electric can openers [usually in the back of it], if you're going for cheap. Otherwise, go with what @Veho suggested. They work well with serrated knives nicely. I myself have both.
