09/07/2025: New firmware 1.2.2
- Improved speed for OOB reads in trimmed roms
- Improved stability
We remain committed to the bounty, and so far we have already awarded 0.2 ETH for an issue reported to us, which we fixed in this firmware update.
"

So is it okay to use dumps from the USB dumper again? It only makes trimmed dumps right?

Huh, still waiting for reports on bans 😃 I was not yet brave enough to use it on my OFW on SW1 😃
For Switch 1, as long as you use personally dumped games via the MIG Dumper or a homebrew app like the NRO version of MIG Dumper that contain all the needed files that match the ROM you should be fine. Using game dumps found on the internet is a sure fire way to get you banned. Also do not share your personally dumped games on the internet.

You're asking if it will make an actual change to your game carts?
No - they're read only, nothing to worry about.
xci cert is safe even detected by Nintendo telemetry right?
Because I'm scared that if Nintendo could blacklist cartridges somehow

Oh they absolutely can and have done so to carts that were shared on the internet. If you don't share the unique per cart files, there is usually nothing to worry about.

Any experiences from someone sharing it with just one extra console?
So having two "carts" online at the same time, instead of 9999 that could happen if you use a public dump?

It still can cause that cart to be banned but it is much less likely.
Not fair if someone rents a game (gamefly etc) or borrows a game, then either:
  • keeps the dump for themselves
  • uploads to the internet lol
and everyone else who uses that game officially (borrows/rents the real cart) gets banned, when the same "cart" is used online by multiple consoles at the same time? :(

I remember people were worried about that with 3ds - "headers", but I don't think N did anything about it.
For switch, yeah definitely seems like they are. I guess the previous 100+ pages must give some useful info but I'm not reading all of it :)

I know. As far I'm aware only publicly shared dumps get banned. Nintendo, after all is much stricter with piracy on the Switch than the 3DS. Most of the time on the 3DS you only got banned if you cheated in an online match like Mario Kart. In that case you deserve to get banned.

Recently someone got banned on a Switch 2 for playing a Switch 1 game they bought on Facebook Marketplace. They did manage to get Nintendo to unban them after providing a pic of the cart and the listing.

It's been 9 months since I first published the PCBs for the flashcart and dumper, but I finally got around to building the flashcart PCB and can confirm that it works.

Awesome stuff!
Let's say I have a v1 without the button - can I transplant all the conponents from the original PCB, to your v2 rebuilt?

If so, will it work like the official v2 (short press goes forward, long press goes backwards), or does the FW detect a v1/v2?

Yes! You will need to add the button and a 1kΩ pulldown resistor, but otherwise the PCB should work as a V2 with your parts transplanted. You could also modify your existing PCB per this guide.

do you have a gamecard shell stl by chance?
Unfortunately not.

If anyone knows how to make one I'd be happy to send them my shell for reference though (this goes for the dumper as well).

My buddy from Philly and I do this who is on the other side of the country

We both dumped our collections to Google drive and play with each other. I have not got banned

I also did this back when SXOS first released as well. I had a popular Twitch plays channel for Mario odyssey and other switch games. That system was online and playing the same games I was on my retail system at the same exact time

Both systems are still unbanned to this day
