Hi, i bought a used vita 2000 from a seller on ebay. when i got the vita everything was working perfectly and there was no homebrew set up on it. I was able to connect it to Wifi and it had an update to 3.74. it updated and now the Wifi and Bluetooth don't work anymore. since I can't connect it to the internet, i can't connect my psn or do anything else with the console. i wanted to mod it but right now i can't do anything with it. if anyone knows how to fix this issue, it would be greatly appreciated.

It's unlikely broken. Try resetting your Vita in Settings. Henkaku will be lost but wifi and bluetooth should work. Then try again.

I dunno how to help but I also have a Slim PS Vita 2000 and I modded it a few years ago, it was last updated to 3.73 when I modded it and now I'm on 3.65 spoofed to 3.74 and yesterday I went online and used pkgj to download a game and a bunch of dlc, no issues there, I was just playing it literally few minutes ago, I play on it a lot though I haven't tried to connect to PSN or use it for remote play in a while so idk if there have been any issues there but last time I did they worked fine.

So i haven't modded it yet, so Henkaku isn't on it yet. there is no data to lose, it's basically a fresh vita. I've reset it multiple times and i can't get anywhere with it because i can't connect to the internet. I was thinking if I'm able to mod it with a memory card while offline, if I'd be able to get the wireless working again with custom firmware.

It was working fine when i got it monday, but when it updated to 3.74 the wifi and bluetooth stopped working on it. I was going to mod it but now i have to figure out how to fix it first.

What does Settings say about Wifi? Enabled? Can you see any networks? Wifi credentials are lost with a reset too of course (and potentially after an update). And what kind of Bluetooth devices are you trying to pair?

So before, it had a mac address and it showed different wifi names. Obviously some wifi didn't work anyway because of newer authentication, but i was able to use my Hotspot to connect to the internet. After the update, it's like the wifi doesn't fully toggle on and no wifi names show up at all and I can't add them manually. I tried to pair bluetooth headphones just to test and I looked on my phone to see if it showed up as a bluetooth device nearby and nothing. The bluetooth will toggle on fully and stay on, but the wifi doesn't and you can't connect anything via bluetooth. And Idk if that's part of it, but I don't think airplane mode is working correctly either. When I turn airplane mode on or off it takes a minute, and then it gives an error and restart the vita. But it looks like it stays toggle on.

I don't know if these methods work anymore, but as jailbreaking's out for now, can you try one of the official methods to update (hopefully reinstall) your firmare? https://www.playstation.com/en-us/support/hardware/psvita/system-software/. PC, PS3, and Memory Card are the non-wifi alternatives.

I've tried to reinstall the firmware and i'm not sure if i just didn't do it right or if i can't, but it wouldn't let me reinstall and said it's already on the latest firmware. the only things that i know of that i haven't tried are using a ps3 or a vita memory card. The next thing i'll have to try is modding it with a vita memory card to see if i can roll back the firmware once it's jailbroken. Maybe that will fix the wireless since it was working before the update, but i'm not sure.

Try from Recovery Mode (Hold R+PS+Power to boot. https://www.psdevwiki.com/vita/Hidden_Modes). It might allow you to do it as long as you managed to get the update copied to an official memory card or internal storage (by PS3, etc). No downgrading here though. But if you haven't already, try doing the System Restore from here first. May be more effective than fom Settings.

Hey there chief, go to your PC (Mac?) and make sure that your internet connection is set to "Private Network", and not "Public Network". If it's set to Public Network your Vita will not be recognized by your PC and VISE VERSA. So that's SETTINGS >> Network & Internet >> Ethernet and MAKE SURE YOU ARE CONNECTED TO PRIVATE NETWORK.

Hope this helps!!!

I now have a ps vita memory card, but i can't find a way to install any homebrew/henkaku via usb and not from the vitas browser. Is there a way to install the initial part of the homebrew via usb? it's looking like i'd have to find a ps3 to use for internet pass through, which is going to be difficult because i don't know anyone who has one and i don't want to have to buy one. it's crazy to me that the vita has to have access to the internet to do any of this. if i have to get a ps3 to be able to mod this vita in it's current condition, i'm unfortunately gonna have to return it.

The exploit is through the browser. There is no kown USB exploit, nor a way to tunnel internet from PS3 or PC. PS3 can download a firmware update. Maybe QCMA (I never tried it) for PC can do such a transfer to your system or memory card too though. Did you try the Recovery Mode reset?

Yeah, i've tried recovery mode, formatting, resetting, rebuild the database, reloading the firmware with qcma. i can't get anywhere with it. at this point idk what else there is for me to do without being able to get on the internet :(

Swampfire1, did you try the network suggestion I listed above?

i did,i've tried pretty much everything i can think of. from what i could find while researching and talking to sony support,it looks like the wireless chip might've been defective and the new update "triggered" the defect. it can't connect without a mac address and it was gone after it updated.
