Here's a nitpick I have with Sonic Mania Port:

The icon for the game in Homebrew Menu shows "Sonic Mania" and not "Sonic Mania Plus". Idk why it bugs me, but it did. So I decided to just change it myself. Just replace the icon.png in apps/SonicMania if this for some reason bugs you aswell. Besides that, this is still a 10/10 port and I can't stop playing and messing around with it (even if I keep crashing the game on purpose).

hello!! although you said its pretty easy to figure out, I'm not familiar with making homebrew, could you please post the command used to compile it?

We need a 360 port port. Shame on Sega for not allowing it to be ported to PS3 and 360.
It was made long after the title support for both of those consoles ended. Really, we should be talking about Homebrew developers, although, given the current status of the Homebrew community, they've probably already done it.

I think its been done already, actually.
And quite well with basically full performance.

For Xbox 360?
actually, upon further inspection, I SWORE I saw one somewhere, but I can't find it now.
It shouldn't be that hard though, all versions of Windows Vista(+) have a 360 devkit internally.
People compile modern source engine for it, I'm sure mania would work great.

Wii homebrew should also be easily portable to 360 since they both share a PPC CPU. I know in the past a lot of people were probably reluctant to make 360 home because hardware mods were a must unless you had an older dashboard/kernal.

another successful compile. I tested it on the vwii. one thing worth noting is that the controller had to be turned off, then back on for the inputs to work. however, it is a version 0.10, so expect bugs. it did run at full speed as well:
It's a shame godreborn is out of the scene, we miss his updated builds, a lot has been improved for the Wii's RSDK 5 since 2023.

Hi there! New to the site and wanted to help out with testing this build of the Wii port.

I played through all of Mania mode and did encounter some crashes along the way.
Stardust Speedway Zone: Act 2
- While playing act 2 normally, it crashes right before Metal Sonic appears.
- The boss will load perfectly fine when loading directly to the fight via the Dev menu. However, leaving the fight by exiting to main menu or dev mode, dying, and/or finishing the fight will result in a crash.
Titanic Monarch Zone: Act 1
- Crashes upon loading into Act 2. However, Act 2 itself does load via level select and time attack.
Titanic Monarch Zone: Act 2
- Crashes when loading into the boss room. Like the Metal Sonic fight, it will load perfectly fine when loading via the dev menu. And it can be presumed it also has the other effects.
All of this was tested on an OG Wii and these instances also happened on their Encore Mode variants. So I am assuming the levels that didn't crash in Mania Mode will in-turn be fine in Encore Mode.

So I went ahead and tried testing again and actually found out what exactly was causing the crashes. The build actually works perfectly!... when there's no mods. Like, ALL mods, including No Special Stage decorations (seemingly, No Decorations Plus isn't causing any issues so far.) I should've suspected that mods would've been an issue, but it never occurred to me that the crashes I mentioned would've happened in levels the mod did not edit.

Depending on what was changed you might just need the same Data.rsdk version as the one a mod was made from. It's been a while since I messed with any of this stuff but I remember also trying half a dozen different versions and only certain ones worked with or without mods.

What is the correct directory structure to use this? Im asking because Ive tried loading this in the usual sonic mania port way with:
apps > Sonic Mania > (Your build renamed to boot.dol)
RSDKv5 > Data.rsdk
Problem is Im getting a black screen when launching the dol, I have to click reset button to take me back to HB channel. Otherwise it worked with previous build, so i think I might be doing something wrong.

This is what I have:

sd:/RSDKv5/Mania/mods/
sd:/RSDKv5/Mania/mods/modconfig.ini
sd:/RSDKv5/Mania/Data.rsdk
sd:/RSDKv5/Mania/Settings.ini
sd:/apps/SonicMania/boot.dol
sd:/apps/SonicMania/meta.xml
sd:/apps/SonicMania/icon.png

So basically just put your Data.rsdk in a "Mania" subfolder and you should be good.

If it still doesn't work, look for a Data.rsdk with these hash values, which is a Plus version that's known to work:

SHA256: 6375e8fa2b053e21b3b288c1532ac8384e9b9b87ae2583efaa741b355916ce65

How do I play Sonic Mania with the No Special Stage Decorations mod and make it work without “Mod loading done” taking a while for the game to load?

Does anyone know what 'No Special Level Decorations' mod works with this particular release?
