Folllowing his latest tweet :

It seems that @SciresM has seriously started working on a CFW implementation.

It shouldn’t be long before we get all the elements for hacking our Switches !

Quite impressive Michael !
@SciresM With this tweet in mind, I always wondered why you wanted a CFW. Or in other words:
Out of curiosity: What are you specifically using a CFW for? :)

scriscriM wants the prestige. You're naive if you don't believe he's looking into the switch 2. You go, scriscri.
He will take a look at it on June 15th. :P Seriously though. I really hope he'll consider working on jailbreaking it. Atmosphere has been a such a great CFW project so far.

Any of them which do no are considered piracy.
It's great of you to answer for him but what you said is nothing new to me.
I'm just curious for an answer by himself on why he did the CFW in the first place. Like why did he think he needed one? Knowing he's a big Pokémon fan, was it for Checkpoint/JKSV to backup/mess-with/restore saves of the PKMN games? I'd love to know. @SciresM

Do you have any profile linked with a valid NNID? If not, that might be why you aren't getting an increased battery drain even when connected to the Internet and Nintendo servers are blocked. I only have fake NNIDs linked to my profiles via linkalho and there's no battery draining issue while connected to the Internet.

Could this really be the source of the battery drain issues I'm reading about? I keep reading about this whether on firmware 19.0.1 or the latest ones, but I have two V1 Switches on 19.0.1 and have never had any battery drain or heating while charging on them. I also use only fake NNID's via linkalho.

I'm asking because I plan to update to one of the 20 firmwares at a point and I don't want this issue to appear all of a sudden. I would really like to avoid having to rebuild my emmuNAND because of this.

No, it doesn't seem to be relevant whether you have a linked account or not.

On Stock with firmware 20.1.1, I just noticed that the WiFi always remains on even when the console is turned off. It's now not the case on my Emunands with 19.0.1. So that's probably where the battery drain comes from. It's weird because you only have the option to turn on "download updates during sleep" via a wired connection.

Look at the tweet in the first post of this thread. Yes, pokerman hacking.

FWIW, I just updated one of my Switches' EmuNAND to 20.0.1 and there seems to be no battery drain. I left it in sleep with WiFi on for one hour and it was on the same percentage when I turned it back on, while people with the issue talk about up to 8% per hour. Again, with only fake NNID's linked via linkhalo so that could be important.
Post automatically merged:

OK, I just updated my second Switch (same config, Emunand) to 20.0.1 and this one has the battery drain issue, about 5% per hour. The only meaningful difference between the two is that I had to create a new user at a point on the one that does not have the battery drain because the cloud save was copied from the stock. So theoretically, it should resolve by creating another user? I'll try it out.

Edit: I'll skip that and just remake my emunand copied from the 20.1.1 sysnand, since everyone says that solves the issue. But first I'll be trying what @tomaladisto did to see if I get the same result, that would be nice.

The battery drain bug somehow fixed itself after updating from v20.1.0 to v20.1.1, I have no idea how since I haven't really done anything differently. Hopefully I won't trigger it again unintentionally in the future.
Edit2: Yeah of course just updating to 20.1.1 did not do anything :p.

So I ended up remaking my Emunand (Stock was in 20.1.1 but everything appears functional as others have said) from scratch and the problem is fixed. I left my Switch in the dock in sleep all night and this morning it was cold. I also noticed that the WiFi now turns off every time I put it to sleep, while it was staying on when it had the battery drain issue. It's weird because on stock, it also always remains on yet does not seem to have the battery drain issue.

I'm still in 19.0.1 emuNAND but 20.1.1 in Stock mode

The only thing I need for boot as CFW System NAND is get my save games and copy in emuNAND, I'm not sure if I need to upgrade emuNAND

the process I would like to do is update hekate, update atmosphere and update the payloads and sys-patch
I guess that I could stay in FW 19.0.1 in emuNAND but update this files to get a SystemNAND boot and save the savegames

I will unload the theme in my emuNAND firstly
Download the files hekate, atmosphere and payload
I will replace the files of my microSD, some tutorials advise to erase full folders but I think I will lose my setups and configuration

Can I only replace the files, updating every new files and don't erase old ini setup and will work?
I would need update sys-patch even if I don't update the firmware in emuNAND

Is it safe to update FW emuNAND to 20.0.1 offline or better I still wait?

It is safe and everything works if you read the posts of the past few pages. But bear in mind that there is a chance (seems to be a coin toss) that you'll get a battery drain/heated charging problem in sleep mode, and the only way to fix it (other than the workaround of using airplane mode) is to back up your saves, create a new EmuNAND, and then reinstall all your games and restore your saves. Then everything works great, even in 20.1.1 as far as I can tell.

Or delete all users and create new ones. But you have to backup all your saves and restore them to the new users

Most likely not as it'll probably get updated alongside Switch 2 (which is more like a beefed up Switch Pro to me).
If the Switch 2 were a Switch Pro in the way that a PS4 Pro is a PS4 and a PS5 Pro is a PS5, then like the latter two, the Switch 1 would be able to run Switch 2 games, albeit much slower.
It cannot. They are not the same architecture. Sorry, you are 100% wrong. It is clearly not a Switch Pro. Hence the designation Switch 2, which no one actually has a problem with except the usual Nintendo haters.
