Nintendo Switch firmware update version 20.1.0 now available

A new Nintendo Switch firmware update is available to download. System software version 20.1.0 has been pushed out to systems, making two minor changes in terms of visual updates to the Switch's Parental Control settings page, and editing the sound effect you hear when opening Nintendo Switch Online from the Home Menu. Of course, you can't ignore another aspect of the new firmware: general system stability improvements to enhance the user's experience. A breakdown as to the update's contents can be found on Switchbrew.

Someone on GitHub reported that Atmosphere is broken.

Need members in here to do test and confirm.

There is no reason for me to update my Switch, tho.
I did yes. I tried booting the version that worked on the prior firmware and I get a black screen no error. Hekate appears to be able to boot OFW though so I think this is an atmosphere issue.

I think the last time I updated my Switch was in 2023, when TOTK released. I hate updating Switch, because it always breaks something, and then I'm stuck spending an hour reinstalling a bunch of shit.

A new update so they can brick your console in a more stable manner.

This does not matter and it's the most braindead narrative against Nintendo I've seen as of late.

If you're not a brainlet, Nintendo should never be able to detect any signs of Modding on your switch, period. AND you can easily recover from a brick on switch anyways if you back up everything.

Overall, this whole disscussion is nothing to anyone on this website.

Lmao digging at nintendo for the illegal bullshit they literally said they would do is not a "braindead narrative against nintendo" XD You can read the exact words they used in which they declare in no uncertain terms that they reserve the right to make your device wholly nonfunctional if you modify your device in their own T&C on their own website. Whether they can detect it or you can recover from it doesn't stop it from being both illegal and funny as all hell. We will make fun of them about that as much as we want and you getting annoyed about is nothing to anyone on this website XD

Umm.... does these icons or sounds least... not annoying? Some people reported issues. Don't remember what one of the youtube videos said, but it was something bout save data being missing, or losing access to games? I'm still waiting for someone to take the new updated eula to trial or am I just on copium at this point?
