Konami reveals remade opening movie for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater

Konami has been busy remaking the beloved Metal Gear Solid 3, in the form of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater. The latest update on the game reveals that Konami also remade the game's intro video, with new visuals, and a re-recording of the game's theme song, Snake Eater, done by the original singer, Cynthia Harrel. Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater will be out this summer, on August 28th, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

I'm working my way through the new version now, and my first impression is that it feels over-produced. I liked the straightforward presentation of the original, whereas we have wobbling newspapers and Snake hair in the new version. Showing Volgin and the bosses outright seems like a misstep to me. Even the dam jump is in there.

I appreciate that we get a new rendition of the classic intro song. That's a nice touch.

Looking forward to those "In-Game Purchases" too.

It would be cool if we could get the MSX Metal Gear games as 3D counterparts. With the length of modern games nowadays, they would need to mix Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake in one game. A fan was doing it with Project Shadow Moses (who Konami originally gave the blessing to) and then yanked it a few months afterwards.

Snake Eater is meant to feel like James Bond, feeling overproduced fits in well.

Konami must be tired of negative feedback
They should have given Kojima a seat on their board. The series is borked without him anyway, so why not let him take a gamble with each game.

I always wondered what the full story was. Did they truly get the green light by Konami? Was David Hayter really on board? Who knows. It seems like it popped up, gained notoriety fast, and then got cancelled and forgotten. It was a wild ride for, like, a week.

My only counterargument is that Twin Snakes' cinematics were considered too over-the-top by some fans.

Haven't gotten to play the original, and although the new one looks good, I'll probably still go and play the original. Something about the originals always hit different and I think its the right way to enjoy something for the first time.
go for it, is on steam, is a fantastic experience. So ahead of its time.

Kojima doesnt want to work on it. Remember he never event wanted to make MGS2.

I think he was just angling for more money or a better contract. There's a reason he came back four more times for MGS3, MGS Peace Walker, MGS4, and MGS5.

Boycott the game guys, Death stranding 2 is much better
Hang on, I can just ask him.
