Curious if you aren't some sort of Discord representative. Feels like you include it in every message here.
lol. im not going to enter in absurd fights if you dont know what is and how usefull can be is not my problem. I told to people who know of it get noticed they have a place.

Hey there!
Sorry for the lack of updates. I took note and fixed some of the reported bugs (ie. issues with recent.txt).

About cheats: please note there's a repo where I place them for users to download: https://github.com/davidgfnet/superfw-cheats/releases I have been adding a few of them over the past days.

SRAM saves are now 128KB, this is to ensure we dump the whole thing (most homebrews are "fine" just dumping 32KB, so I could perhaps do that, but just in case...). Most emulators will just read the first 32KB when loading them anyway.

For cheats: you must enable the IGM (as well as enable cheats in the config menu and have proper cheat files). If any of the mentioned conditions is not met, no cheats for you. The games you mention (Yggdra Union, YuGiOh Duel Academy...) are 32MiB ROMs which usually don't have access to the IGM (they are too big!), so cheats won't work for them.

When it comes to ROM hacks (these pokemon games are a mixed bag of hacks and homebrew) their support is limited. I would recommend you using the patch generator online, and launching them using SRAM as save type. It is still likely they don't fully work (or saving doesnt work or something like that). If there's any particular ROM that doesn't work but works with SCFW, please mention it so I can try to debug it. If it doesn't work with SCFW nor the original firmware... well I cannot make any promises. At this point it might be easier for me to send a PR to some of these projects to add native support for SC instead of hacking around :P

Please remember to read and check the docs, I actually clarified some of these issues in the troubleshooting section: https://superfw.davidgf.net/docs/usermanual/troubleshooting/#missing-or-disabled-features
I did not write them for nothing!

I'm still waiting on some more HW (ie. supercard lite), but I might just open the repo if it takes too long. It's gonna be 1 year in a few days of the first post, so it is about time I wrap up this project

Some cheats even you have the two conditions, just they dont read. Examples: A5NP-00, A88P-00, AAWE-00, AMRE-00, AOBP-00, AT3E-00, B8KP-00, BAJP-00, BDVP-00, BFZP-00, BG3E-00 and BHPE-00 at the time i stopped waiting for any update.
And what about he other supported emulators, the files are not recogniced to open with it? and the support for other emulators too?

Hi! How does SuperFW compare to SCFW? Is there a discord? Is the github offline? I cannot find a way to download the firmware...

Hi thankyou for this.
Please add softreset patch like on SCFW.
My supercard battery is dead and SRAM data didn't survive power-cycle. If i reset the GBA and back to superfw, it will corrupt the save because it overwrite with blank data.

In SCFW there is softreset patch, it reset without power-cycle.

Thanks

Hello there!

The firmware can be downloaded in the first post in this thread. It is always advisable to read the first post (I understand that reading all messages is a bit too much). In a few days I will open up the github repo.

SuperFW allows softreset using its IGM (in-game menu), that allows saving, resetting, etc. See the docs: https://superfw.davidgf.net/docs/usermanual/igm/ Also note that not all games require a reset to save, since you can use Direct-Saving: https://superfw.davidgf.net/docs/usermanual/saving/#using-_directsaving_

About the cheats. I cannot speak for all of them, but the ones I've tested do indeed work for me. Perhaps it would be useful to report your issue with some extra information. A video is usually ideal. Are cheats disabled in the IGM? Are they active when loading the ROM? The load menu usually tells you why cheats are not enabled.

Hope this helps.

they simply dont appear in the superfw main menu to activate before load the rom, for that i told about the discord, because is more easy to manage this, greater efficiency and speed in responding to problems, send videos and give appropiate feedback, get all reports organized and more easier to read without lost under all this post, feel free to join, i cant provide more info than i just make the cht like the others, i put in the same folder, and the superfw just dont recognize then. They have the right structure, file format, and there is no mistake in cheats adress or something similar. I noticed Ouuyeaaaa got the same troubles with other game cheats too. I can make a video, i dont know if the forum going to accept or handle a recorded video size, and it wont going to see anymore than describeed before.

Hello there!

Thank you for your efforts!
The UI is minimal yet beautiful, the options across the UI make sense and it is great to not have to pre-patch my backups before transferring them to the now High Capacity Micro SD.

I have a question about running a rom. One of the reasons I got a supercard was to be able to try out 3rd gen pokemon distribution roms. The pokemon distribution roms work fine (as they do on original SuperCard fw) but key item distribution roms like Aurora ticket (and the ones that are produced from it through patching using Goppier's method) get stuck in a game boot loop. I have tried the following:
- No WaitCNT patching - White screen
- Built-in WaitCNT patching - Boot loop
- Online WaitCNT patching - Boot loop

Any advice on how I can get them unstuck? Has anyone else experienced game boot loops?

Aurora ticket, eon ticket, mystic ticket and old sea map usually are distributed with a savegame instead distribution rom because distributions only worked on japanesse games.

Hey there

I did test this morning with B8KP-00 and it just worked fine (on my NDS). Are you using the superfw cheats repo or your own cheats? There's always the chance your cheats have a bug or something.
Also, given your previous reports of cheat files full with null bytes and so, I suspect your FAT partition might be bad. I would recommend you starting over (get an SD, format it, copy the superfw cheats and the ROM, and test) and ensuring you are using the latest version (my tests were with v0.14).

About the pokemon distribution ROMs: can you share the hash of the ROM and its game ID? I need to test them before I can comment on what's going on. The patch tool is not perfect and there's a few games that don't work.

Cheers!

im using last version, the only null cht files are what i create with notepad++ if i use repo ones not, the card need to be in good state because is new brand (i have more of then using on other devices) and did overwrite format before start with superfw (64gb exfat) and except this it didnt got any other errors including all test on superfw says are fine, and yes im making my own cheats, like i suspect is a notepad++ issue with cht format, with what software you make cheats? i tryed repo thing but is not easy to understand for non developers working under windows and not linux.

I would recommend you reading the docs here:
https://superfw.davidgf.net/docs/usermanual/cheats/

Just download the zip file (https://github.com/davidgfnet/superfw-cheats/releases) and extract the files to .superfw/cheats/

And again: I would still format your SD card. You mentioned something that resembled data corruption. I'm just trying to help you here, if you don't wanna try my suggestions it's fine, but then do not ask for further help, cause I will not have any more.
is fine i was just trying to clarify before out 64gb of roms, ok, but like you want to be rude is ok. No problem. Also have revised all you tell, but it looks like you dont want to read my entire posts, just a portion of it is ok. Looking that is fine im going to stop trying to help improve or feedback here, and like always happen im going to find my way no problem.

Is there any way to change brightness it, i tried in the ds menu then slotted in my supercard and it just goes to its default i want the option of turing my backlight off
Im using the phat ds

Ok found the issue with SMS advance! Seems it does tweak the WAITCNT register (which other emus and most homebrew don't do). I uploaded a patched version of the emu in the OP. I will change the docs to point to this new binary.
Perhaps adding DrSMS support would be a good idea too.
Enjoy!

Thank you for the reply!

MD5 hash of the gba file is 89073fce9c0d5b25acdfdf8a1d7b9d9d.
I believe Game ID is JPAJ. This is what is stated in the file name and also in the hex.

I forgot to mention two important things.
First thing is that I tried it on SuperFW v0.14.
Second one is that I have already succeded in using the rom to obtain the key items (just like I did for Pokemon distributions) on a legit Pokemon game of mine, while on original SuperCard firmware (using their patching method).

Aurora ticket, eon ticket, mystic ticket and old sea map usually are distributed with a savegame instead distribution rom because distributions only worked on japanesse games.
The only thing that was included for the rom I found was a gba file reportedly for USA version. It worked properly for my European Pokemon cartridge anyway (using SuperCard original firmware).

The thing is that I like SuperFW and I would like to keep using it. But I would also like to be able to use these roms without reflashing my SuperCard to stock firmware and back to SuperFW every time.

Thanks for your input.

SuperFW allows softreset using its IGM (in-game menu),
Igm doesn't work on bigger rom. But in scfw the softreset patch work, maybe the small payload is enough just for softreset patch

Hey there!

It seems the issue is with the RTC patches. Just select Disabled in the Emulated RTC, when launching the ROM. With the patches enabled it does indeed flash the screen to white and restart the ROM, whereas with it disabled works fine.
No idea whether that makes the ROM fail at a later stage. Havent tested with real HW (i dont have my GBA here nor my Wireless adapter).

To be honest I never tested the RTC patches with any other game than pokemon Ruby/Shapire, so no idea if it breaks other games. I might try debug a bit more later, see if it's some simple bug on my end :)

Yeah fair enough. However there's like 60 ROMs (out of 3000) that are 32MiB. And only a third or so (perhaps 15) use SRAM as saving method. That's mainly the reason I havent added this feature.
If you are interested in some particular game, it might be better to investigate if there's some "unused" space in the ROM where SuperFW IGM can be loaded (some other 32MiB games have big holes and work fine with the IGM, but sometimes these holes are not obvious to find).
