SuperFW: a custom firmware for Supercard

Just trying to create a cheats file for SuperFW, continuing the existing one and adding cheats for other games. Thanks to @davidgf as the founder and @ElHave who shared how to make it work. Thanks also to Almarsguide, GameHacking.org, Cheatsfandom, as my sources for creating this cheat file.

There is no guarantee that the cheat will work 100%, so please recreate it using the existing format, adjust it to the game you are playing. There are 151 files in total, I'm sure most of them are games that are quite commonly played.

Hello, i'm trying to run alpharad's MarioMon mod on my gba and it can't run at all on superFW, either no patching or patch engine or built in none of it works, BUT when I load it on SCFW it works perfectly Version 0.12

Edit: I updated to 0.14, same issue, but I found that the fix was patch engine + Turning off RTC for some reason.

Hi, I'm new for SuperCard received yesterday and interesting in SuperFW. Currently SuperFW repository is not found in github. Where can I get SuperFW firmware?

the github is not setup to be public yet grab the latest release the bottom of the main post :) v.14
 
Hello @davidgf! I found a small bug which isn't obvious when it occurs.

If you use the settings menu to remove all items from the recent games list, it writes .superfw/recent.txt out as a zero byte file. If the file exists and has zero bytes in size, then during initial boot, the SUPERFW logo displays, and then freezes on a white screen.

Had to mount the microSD on a computer and remove the file from the filesystem in order to allow superfw to boot again!

Thanks again for the great supercard firmware!

Hey bro, your cheats are corrupting when you back it the file to pc? with that null i showed before.

Oh; slightly amusing thing - if I set the time for the RTC, the time never moves! I can come back hours later after the device has been powered off, and it's still the same as the time I set previously.

You have to update the time manually every time before starting the game. The Super Card doesn’t have any hardware support for RTC.

unfortunately I did not experience what you showed in the null null table, I made a cheat using https://texteditor.co/ I don't know if it's an error from the txt editor application you are using or something else @ElHave

I have problems with games like Riviera, Yggdra Union, YuGiOh Duel Academy, and KoF NeoBlood, I have named the cheat the same as the GameID and Hex code, but in the game run menu the cheat is still written as "disabled" and cannot be changed.

Then on Demikids Dark Version and Dokapon Monster Hunter the cheat will make the game unable to be launched. The rest on certain titles the game experiences a graphic bug or glitch when the cheat is activated, or the cheat works well but makes the game not produce sound.

But most famous game titles are able to run the cheat well. It really needs help from experts who are more experienced in making this cheat, SuperFW is very great at breaking the Supercard limit. °\{^,^)/°

im using notepad++ is known good text editor but maybe is confusing with format or something, so im going to try your software. I have the same problem you have with some games too the cheat table isnt recognized never even is right builded. For that i made the discord server and little by little people is joining, where we can work and help all together without lose tips and stuff over more and more pages of this post and can help in real time, or with more fast time response.

My supercardSD comes in the mail tomorrow, and I found out after buying it wont be coming with an SD card, and I only have SDHC MicroSD cards. I got it from amazon so returning it wont be an issue.
But I was wondering if there is anyway to flash the Supercard with this firmware along with a slot 1 r4, and DS while having a SDHC microSD card in rather then a SD MicroSD.

after looking at your documentation it seems this is possible under the "flashing with DS" instructions but wanted to double check.

You can just follow the instructions exactly as they are. It's actually easier to install using a DS and an R4 card than trying to find and use a 2GB SD card.
 
just wanted to leave an update saying thank you, Got my supercardSD without an SD card. with no microSD available (non SDHC) I used your intructions on flashing my cart with my DS, and now have a fully operational cart with 4 gb SDHC microSD card in it. and now its filled with my favorite pokemon,megaman, and zelda cames. I also loaded my save file for minish cap from my PC with no issues.

so stoked.

What is the best format and allocation unit size for SuperFW? and is 128Kb save file size for all games with SRAM save normal in SuperFW?

im not sure about save sizes, i didnt have any troubles with it even replacing with others or importing to pc emulators, so i think all they are made correctly, are you inside the discord server, if you are what is your username? since you are so active, we can talk there and help togheter.

Curious if you aren't some sort of Discord representative. Feels like you include it in every message here.

Hi impressive work, I'm trying to play some pockemon homebrew roms (emerald legacy, emerald seaglass), but when I lauch them from the superfw I got a white screen. All the other games work perfectly. I have a super card sd micro sd. I have made the SDRAM, SRAM and battery test, and its all OK.
Things I have tried:
-Lauch the game using the Patch Database
-Lauch the game unpatched
-Use the PatchEngine built in the superfw
-Use the online GBA ROM patch generator, then placing the patch inside ./superfw/patches/
-Patch the games using the supercard firmaware on the latest version on windows
-Apply SRAM patch using GBATA.
I am missing something, any suggestions?
I can run these roms on the SCFW by MetroidManiac, but I would like to play on the superfw.
Another thing, does anyone know if it's possible to play Advance Wars 2 on the supercard? The game starts but freezes on the main menu.
