Xenoblade Chronicles X Definitive Edition Graphics Settings

After small edit of executable game allows loading graphics settings file outside of ard/arh archive.

Download correct package for your game and version:
  • TID: 0100453019AA8000
    • Version 1.0.1 - "XCX_Settings_1.0.1-fix.zip"
Put "atmosphere" folder to root of your sdcard. File you want edit is "lib_nx.ini" in atmosphere/contents/*TID*/shader/monolib/
This file stores default settings. This thread should focus on figuring out the best settings out there.

WARNING
If you want to remove mod, you must remove IPS patch. If you will remove only ini file, you will get broken visuals.

EDIT 20.03.2025 21:20 GMT: Reuploaded package with correct lib_nx.ini file, the other one was not used by game and had wrong settings. The new package has suffix "-fix".

Sorry, I got it wrong

I actually set it to half of 720p (No wonder it was so pixelated)

For me this is fine, but I am sure others will disagree

I'll try setting it to 480p (0.66x) now
What are your OC settings? I’m having no issues getting 60 at 720p res with disabled double buffer.

Because game runs at double buffer. Triple buffer is out of question because of how game is designed.
Just disable Window Sync in FPSLocker.
This was helpful, thanks. Would be interested if anybody has gotten stable 30 fps in NLA with OC at normal resolutions, and what OC they're using if so.

idk what software people use to go above sys-clock's settings

But I am trying to achieve 60FPS using only what sys-clk allows

I have been messing with my file a lot and I think I have gotten it to a pretty good state

Here is NLA (very taxing area)

Running at 1700Mhz CPU and 900MHz GPU

And here is the file I am currently using (rename to .ini)

I'm assuming this doesn't work on emulators. Or, I'm just not dropping the files into the right folder. Anyone else have any luck?

Messed around with it and eventually got it working
Put the .ips file inside of XCX_ConfigRedirect in the regular mod directory like soView attachment 492329

Edit: Ah nevermind. I thought I got rid of bloom but I didnt so it doesn't seem to be working. Apologies
Edit 2: It did work actually as the title screen bloom is gone but the in game bloom seems to still be there.
Where did you place the lib_nx.ini file? Is it needed in the emu?
Post automatically merged:

Thanks! Is lib_nx.ini needed if it's just on emus?

It's RAM. Go as high as you can on RAM and it smooths out. I did mine with same cpu/gpu and once i went from 1600 to 2366mhz ram it snapped to 720/60. At 1600 it looked like yours.

How can I go above 1600MHz RAM?

I am using ultrahand + atmosphere + sys-clk on an OLED Switch

I have read that going above 1600 can corrupt my NAND/SD card, which is why I have switched to the LOD mod instead and combined it with a reduction of 0.83x times the normal resolution (900p)

I had forgotten how bad the pop-in can be in this game, so I am ok with this new setup (increased LOD mod + 900p 30FPS + small overclock)

Out of curiosity, are you able to hit stable 30 fps in NLA with your setup? I'm just trying to avoid annoying frame drops in NLA but even OC'ing to 1300 CPU/844 GPU/1862 RAM I still get plenty of frame drops in NLA (with 1x resolution in docked mode).

You don't need OC or any changes to lib_nx to kill those 20FPS drops actually

All you need is FPSLocker

If you have it head to advanced settings and disable window sync wait

Please note this will introduce artifacts on the menus

OLED RAM is pretty versatile depending on what type you have.

Read this for established safe values, you’re holding yourself back for no reason.
