Xenoblade Chronicles X Definitive Edition Graphics Settings

After small edit of executable game allows loading graphics settings file outside of ard/arh archive.

Download correct package for your game and version:
  • TID: 0100453019AA8000
    • Version 1.0.1 - "XCX_Settings_1.0.1-fix.zip"
Put "atmosphere" folder to root of your sdcard. File you want edit is "lib_nx.ini" in atmosphere/contents/*TID*/shader/monolib/
This file stores default settings. This thread should focus on figuring out the best settings out there.

Is it romfs\monolib\shader or romfs\shader\monolib? Since the previous games all use the former.
romfs\shader\monolib, it works, sadly if you want to use this to get 60fps the game runs like ass, it just cannot do 60fps without permanently running at 428p or having massive stutter when you turn the game can barely handle 30fps at the default dynares of .7 which is runs at almost all the time, and when it cant do that it just slows gametime down to maintain 30fps

Nah just upscaling. It works on real hardware right? Cuz it's not doing anything in emulators.
Also wanna try the other method which you put only lib_nx.ini under 0100453019AA9001 (Exploration Support Package DLC), just wondering if the path is different? Cuz that's the case for xc2 and 3.

Whole trick is just patching path to lib_nx.ini so game won't be able to find it inside arh and it will try to search for it outside of ard. I have just swapped folders, originally is monolib/shader, patch makes it shader/monolib

lol I knew it. Anyways I tried the dlc method by putting it under 0100453019AA9001\xxx\romfs\monolib\shader but didn’t work. Also tried 0100453019AA8000\xxx\romfs\monolib\shader no luck neither, any idea?

Messed around with it and eventually got it working
Put the .ips file inside of XCX_ConfigRedirect in the regular mod directory like so

Edit: Ah nevermind. I thought I got rid of bloom but I didnt so it doesn't seem to be working. Apologies
Edit 2: It did work actually as the title screen bloom is gone but the in game bloom seems to still be there.

This method worked only for DLCs with romfs. I bet that DLC is just an unlocker, so it won't work.

Outside of DLC it won't work for any file that is already mentioned in arh.

Will this works on emus, too?

Is it just me or is this one of those games where it goes straight down to 20 fps whenever it drops any frames? A patch allowing it to use any frame rate (but still capped at 30) would probably be a big improvement for those of us running on real hardware with OC.

Because game runs at double buffer. Triple buffer is out of question because of how game is designed.
Just disable Window Sync in FPSLocker.

Excuse me, is there a way to lock the resolution to 540p or lower?

(I want this to try and achieve a more consistant 60FPS on real hardware)

Update:

I figured it out, I also disabled AA. That was good enough to get me 60FPS.
