There are instructions on that page for how to test a suitable magnet. You don't even need to hold in in place very long. You can probably find something suitable at your local dollar store (if you have those).

Are you sure "Mii Plaza extdata" means what you think it means? Some Mii Plaza data is stored on the SD card, but I'm not sure how useful it is without data from the NAND.

Those files are encrypted and you will need to decrypt them before you can do anything with them. See https://gbatemp.net/threads/restore-save-data-from-dead-3ds-2ds.606907/ . (Be sure to read the first couple of posts in the thread.)
I tried the magnet trick before, its pressing buttons and keeping the magnet still, I have a very twitchy body since chemotherapy and spaz fits, also bad memory because I used to be able to mod 3ds consoles like water off a ducks back, downgrading, setting up for Gateway or installing CFWs..... Now its all blank.

I'm scared to even touch the 2 working consoles one boots for Gateway and the other was the same but when I was starting to forget, I had forgotten what I had done, so I changed it to CFW and now I've forgotten everything even the initial trigger that boots.

But ill try find a strong coin size magnet off amazon or something.

Hi all,
I put CFW on my old2DS about a year ago, have had no other issues in that time. However I recently noticed I have some issue with my Mii Plaza--anytime I open it it throws a 'The update data is corrupted' error and tells me to delete it via the Downloadable Content section in Data Management, but I don't see it there, just two pages of empty entries (0 blocks each) and a few game DLCs/updates (that I put there ofc.) I'm curious if there's any way to fix this or if I'm just SOL. Thanks !

Try to delete it with FBI go to titles and find mii plaza and delete it.

Check your SD card for starters. Copy everything off the card (Roadkil's Unstoppable Copier is recommended), format the card, and test the empty card with h2testw. If the test passes, then you can just copy everything back again. That might be enough to fix the problems.

If you can't format the card or if h2testw gives you an error, then you just have to copy everything to a new SD card (after formatting and testing the new card).

Try to delete it with FBI go to titles and find mii plaza and delete it.
Messing with problematic entries in FBI is likely to make things much worse and is almost certainly a bad idea!

Its perfectly safe to delete titles with FBI.

Hello when I try to setup emunand for GW3DS and update GW emunand to the latest version it won't boot to GW emunand through the GW menu any help would be appreciated :)

Is there any way to change the internal title of the DS game that shows up in the activity log 3ds? I tried using dsbuff and similar utilities, but all of them only affect the banner on the home screen, which is quietly changed when generated in nds forwarder with custom title.
Using YANBF helped, but it has a different problem, for some reason some games are displayed as other games, for example Mario 64 DS for some reason has the same title as Metroid in the picture, i.e. with the same translator info.

you probably have old icon data still cached that is preventing the updated icon/banner from showing up

https://github.com/Sandynatt/CacheTool

you can try clearing the shared icon cache

Hello. I used to play on my o3DS many years ago and I had custom firmware on it. I found it again recently but I cannot turn it on for very long as the battery is inflated. I might try to get a replacement battery soon. I have access to the SD card still. I want to extract some things from my 3DS so they don't become inaccessible to me. One of them is my ACNL save file. I had the digital version which I got for free from the Nintendo Club. I found the .sav file but I don't know how to convert it so I can use it on Citra, so I can play and revisit my island now. Another one is my Photo Dojo data. It is a DSi game I bought on the eshop for a couple dollars. I have no idea where the save data for it could be on the SD card. It has funny pictures and sound effects of me and my family/friends, which I would like to revisit with them someday on Citra or any emulator that might be able to run it. I've been browsing threads about these topics but I've had a hard time finding anything that could help. I remember using JKSM for other games but I didnt back up my ACNL save with it, so thats not there. Any information would be extremely helpful, I really want to get back my saves for these games and store them on my computer so I don't lose them if the 3DS becomes even more damaged. There might be more things I want to backup that I cant remember right now, I'm not sure. If I need to get a new battery and learn how to dump more files from my 3DS to do these things then I will, I just need someone who knows what they are doing to guide me first, as I haven't done any of this stuff in many years and my memory is not very good. And I don't want to waste any money or screw something up on my 3DS. Thank you.

Thank you so much, it helped. I thought the problem was with the cache, but I didn't know exactly how to clean it, even though I had Cthulhu installed, but I only used the activity log cleanup. I've already searched for help on several discord channels, but no one knew the reason. I should have registered on this forum from the very beginning)

That file is encrypted and you will need to decrypt it before you can do anything with it. Normally JKSM and Checkpoint decrypt the data automatically. See https://gbatemp.net/threads/restore-save-data-from-dead-3ds-2ds.606907/ . Be sure to read the first couple of posts in the thread.

I could be mistaken, but I think that data might be stored internally in the 3DS NAND.

Thank you for the response. I dont think I backed up the files necessary to restore the encrypted data so I will probably try to keep the 3DS alive long enough to dump those and if I cant, I will have to buy a new battery. I could also try to export whatever is holding my Photo Dojo data. Do you know if there is a way to back up the entirety of the NAND data? While I wait for another response I will try to dump the necessary files with GM9.

If you followed https://3ds.guide when you hacked your unit, then you should have a backup of the necessary files.

I could also try to export whatever is holding my Photo Dojo data.
I think the standard way of doing that is through Data Management in the System Settings app.

Do you know if there is a way to back up the entirety of the NAND data?
Of course there is. That is a standard function of Godmode9. ninfs can also be used to browse the contents of a NAND backup on a PC.

Thank you. I bought a replacement battery and extracted my ACNL save file. I also backed up boot9.bin and movable.sed. I am currently creating a full NAND backup, theres about 30 mins left. I looked at the DSiWare section of the Data Management in Settings like you said and the only option was to "copy" Photo Dojo data to the SD card. It said it would make the game unplayable and I dont know exactly what it will do so I didnt do it. Does anyone know how I can backup my Photo Dojo game and save with all the images and audio? I dont wanna lose it

So, I have an unmodded O3DS whose A button has ceased functioning. I desire to acquire my save data and games from it by doing a system transfer, but the only other system I have available is a modded N3DS XL. Can I use a system transfer without losing the CFW on my N3DS?

I know it's best to system transfer from cfw to cfw, but without being able to press the A button, I can't cfw my O3DS.

System Transfer does not remove CFW. Not even a System Format cannot remove CFW.

You will, however, lose everything else installed on the N3DS XL.
