Good graphics with the expense of hard drive space, or low graphics with minimum hard drive space?

I'd be interested to see how AI affects indie game development. Just an ideas person? More technical than creative? Have AI whip up characters, 3D models, animations, and music, and you can focus on the aspects of game development you're interested in, like level design, gameplay, etc.

EDIT: I see a sad emote in the reactions. I guess I was thinking more the prototyping phase. Theoretically, one could make a whole game using AI, but that's a whole host of discussions I didn't intend for with this post.

The future of gaming looks incredibly promising, especially with innovative projects like Nulls Brawl leading the charge. As technology evolves, platforms like this offer a unique experience that could change how we view multiplayer games. For more insights into the future of gaming, Nulls Brawl is definitely a game to keep an eye on.
Nulls Brawl is indeed pushing the boundaries of multiplayer gaming! What features of Nulls Brawl do you think will have the biggest impact on the gaming industry?

Sad about tariffs would tax GPU graphic price shoot up higher because of Trump are hurting us and everyone. Also hurting gaming companies too. I look forward to games which don't need powerful GPU graphic cards and don't need much storage. I don't need fastest gaming computer with crazy highest GPU graphic card cost way too much! I know rich people can afford high prices of CPU, GPU, storage, etc just like fancy things for crazy!

I install new bigger Western Digital Black 10 TB hard drive last 4 weeks ago and success running in my gaming desktop computer and ready for any new PC gaming upcoming and also ready to hoard then eat some of Nintendo Switch 2 games up for to play later in the future when Switch 2 emulator coming up anytime soon. If get full again. I will need to wait for Western Digital company to produce new afford Black 24 TB hard drive then I will have to buy again to crush high price of SSD (4 TB, 8 TB, and above) away! I feel about SSD capacity up to 2 TB are now trash because of bigger games fill up too fast become useless to me. I still wait for 20 TB and above for SSD in year 2027 or after then I will force to swap my old SSD out and install 20 TB + SSD in near future for bigger new games to run much faster load time. B-)

I have a PS4 Pro (9.00) and PS5 (7.00) I don't need to say they're great consoles and all, but haven't really had time to play. I have Demon's Souls and Ratchet & Clank for PS5, while my PS4 Pro is hacked so I can play any PS4 game I want... I don't bother though.

I'm not even gonna bother buying the so-called PS5 Pro. They don't care about making exclusives for it (for PS5 in general) to make it worth.

Not to mention that it's $700 fucking dollars. Why buy a PS5Pro when you can wait for roughly 2.5 years for the PS6?

I'd go with with good ol' enjoyable games with decent looks over realistic ultra 8k whatever graphics and meh gameplay any day of the week, but that's not what you're asking now is it?
No no no continue, this was a debate between Begonia and I. Guess who's winning💪

Tho gameplay doesn't matter in this discussion, it's about looks

I prefer low graphics/save disk space. Storage space costs money and for me the better graphics are worthless, doesn't make a game more fun.

Starting with PS3/Xbox 360 the games have a higher resolution/more detailed graphics, but there are nearly no games I really love on those platforms. And somehow the games starting from that era seems to be more difficult/complex to play too. A good looking game is worthless for me if I can't even get past the 10%.

Most of the time when I play games, I play PS1/PS2, Xbox OG and Wii. My PS3, X360 and Switch are just collecting dust despite the better graphics.

either one is fine i've always felt that games should have passion be the main reason it exists in the first place
and entries after should consists of evidence that you learned from your mistakes on the last and not only improve
but also bring new creative ideas to the table, i've always been a quality over quantity person as i've seen alot of games
that have alot to do in it, but not much to say about it after finishing, but im a firm believer that you can put alot into
a game while still having alot good to say about it after finishing it: my go to example is pokemon ruby and sapphire,
even before emerald there was an awful lot packed into those games and things i'm still finding out about in current day
but even with the battery not working and the time based events no longer working it's a fantastic game that only got
better when emerald came out, a game then when it came out i didn't know i needed

For me, I prefer smaller game size and simpler graphics. Realistic graphics can be cool and improve the look of a game. However, I've seen many games where there was a push for better graphics, but the quality of the gameplay wasn't that great. I'm someone who has played everything from Pong to Alien Isolation. Not sure if I've played anything with more realistic graphics. I just haven't seen an increase in fun and quality along side graphical quality over the years. I think a game like Alien Isolation could be just as creepy and grim if it had basic lighting/shadows and was low poly. I still quite enjoy playing Doom 1 and 2 despite how primitive their graphics look now. The games are just damn fun and there is 100 lifetimes of mods for them, so I could play Doom till I die and the fun would never fade away.

exactly my thoughts, sony is my biggest example of company who fixates way too much on graphical fidelity rather than balancing out the quality of their game and it's gotten to the point to where they backed themselves into a corner soley
because they tend to neglect their cartoony and colorful IPs like Sly Cooper, they have alot to work with tbh and i feel like some
companies or game devs shouldn't be afraid to put out a game with PS2 graphics as a artistic choice every now and then
along with a realistic looking game, furthermore the quality of either should be polished as much as possible, heck throw in some cheeky easter eggs here and there. personality i guess is another thing that's important, i really like how in conker's bad fur day and in windwaker your character never really felt static, if they were bored of you not touching the damn controller they'd let you know in some way lmao

Art style is what makes games look visually appealing, imo. It can look to the T like the real world and I would find that pretty boring. I prefer delving into cool atmospheres. You can do that with lower poly and good textures. I am of the mindset of small games, "worse" graphics, and more passion.
