Ps vita 3G rear touchpad doesnt work

I left my vita without using it for like 4 months or so, then yesterday I turn it on again, still had battery left but to my surprise the rear touch didnt work at all.

My ps vita rear touch worked normally on games, Ive completed games that use it like uncharted so I know it worked.

What can I do?

Rear touch is attached to the main board via one ribbon cable. There‘s an off chance it just came loose and you can flip the little latch open, reseat it, and close it again. Will have to remove the Phillips head screws around the back (4), on the sides of the charger port (2) AND under the game car slot cover (1) to get to it. The ribbon cable is a little short but it does in fact cover the distance.

UPDATE:
it seems a trace or a point on the battery connector socket was broken, and that was what gave me issues with the rear touchpad.

THIS. Yep, I had to replace my battery and accidentally left this ribbon off. I took out all the screws, reconnected the ribbon and voila! Back in business.

Yes, in my case it wasnt the Ribbon but an unsoldered trace, I wasnt able to do it properly, I took it to a repair shop and it was changed for a fresh new socket with new legs and soldered properly.
Now it works as new.
