The Trump reciprocal trade act is like hitting a Draw Two with a Draw Four.
The tariffs will need to be strategically levied mainly to protect vital industries (auto, steel, agriculture, electronics) to promote investment in US manufacturing along with corporate tax breaks to those who do. It will always be a slippery slope as corporations will need to be monitored to ensure they are actually using the tax breaks for growth rather than PURELY profit. Anyone who argues that corporations will simply profit off tax breaks really doesn't understand how business operates. Business exists to turn a profit, the key is to ensure that the some of that profit (the more profit the more should be shared as a constant percentage) through job creation (economic growth) and/or increased wages of workers. Some companies will certainly try and exploit the tax break and should appropriately be punished (not debilitating but stiff enough to promote compliance). If the US continues to outsource labor to other countries we will be further dependent on them for products. This dependence can be further leveraged during times of crisis, whereas if those businesses are more centrally based here in the U.S. the government could subsidize them in times of crisis to supplement supply chains and limit inflationary impact. I have more faith in Trump economy than Biden/Harris.
No, Trumps policy is like saying "do what I say, or I'm going to shit in my mouth".. hmm Ok
He isn't a 4d chess master. He's someone who upsets people to try to manipulate them. Which when they are your employee, or someone desperate for money that they try to suck at your teat then it might work. Foreign countries will just shrug.
Four years of this will kill off American manufacturing, but Trump seems to mostly be looking to boost China's manufacturing anyway.
His only skill is at conning people into lending him money and then stealing it.
Higher prices, but your food will give you cancer. What is not to like.
Trump needs to drive inflation higher and higher, to erode his debts. We're likely to now see defaults rise to levels not seen since 2008.
If it wasn't going to ruin so many lives, I'd grab the popcorn. You better hope that Trump has been lying about the things he said he would do and instead he doesn't do anything.
The first problem is you think you were trying to do the right thing. HAHAHAHA!!!! Voting for a person who was extremely disliked and dropped out of the 2020 race because NOBODY LIKED HER!
She puts on fake accents to convince mouth breathers like you that she's "on your side".
Who can forget these wonderful, inspirational quotes from Kamala Harris:
"The governor and I, we were all doing a tour of the library here and talking about the significance of the passage of time, right, the significance of the passage of time. So, when you think about it, there is great significance to the passage of time in terms of what we need to do to lay these wires. What we need to do to create these jobs. And there is such great significance to the passage of time when we think about a day in the life of our children."
"We will work together, and continue to work together, to address these issues…and to work together as we continue to work, operating from the new norms, rules, and agreements, that we will convene to work together...we will work on this together."
“We got to take this stuff seriously, as seriously as you are because you have been forced to have taken this seriously.”
“It is time for us to do what we have been doing. And that time is every day.”
"What can be, unburdened by what has been"
The DNC didn't let anyone vote on a candidate at their convention, which pissed a lot of your fellow liberals off because most of them knew she couldn't win against Trump.
She only accepted ONE debate with Trump (because her handlers knew she was retarded and would look just as dumb as Biden)
Going on disgusting pod casts (Call her Daddy..... REALLY?) and spending most of her campaign hiding from real reporters in her bunker, getting drunk and cackling all day/night.
So yes, putting your support behind Kamala (and thinking the MAJORITY of Americans would support her) wasn't doing the right thing. It was voting for Communism and for the destruction of our country. Unless you think open borders is a good idea?
Speaking of, are you OK with illegal invaders being released into the USA, given a free bus or plane ride anywhere they want, free monthly cash/EBT/SNAP assistance, free housing, free medical and free education for their kids?
“Voting for Kamala was voting for Communism” is perhaps the dumbest take that anyone could have in this instance. You don’t know much about communism or really much of anything it seems
that’s all well and good as a map of colors but if you really are lost with this thought process, you’ll notice all of the blue spots are more densely populated. Consider, I don’t know, Montana. The population of LA alone is 3x larger than the population of the state of Montana as a whole. It’s the entire basis on why the electoral college exists, btw. Rural areas are sparsely populated when compared to major metro areas, and are more spread out, hence why visually it always looks like there’s more red compared to blue. All of this is meaningless anyways because there is never a turnout of 100% of voters, and not everyone votes ballot down based on party (Case in point - my state of NC governor election vs the vote for Harris v Trump).
I'm curious if any of the resident leftists here are the least bit upset by the corporate media lying and gaslighting us into thinking this was a close race? And can you explain how the gold standard of polling had a D+3 for Iowa that ended up being a R+13?

A actual leftist here, and not a liberal (not that you believe there’s a difference) but: Can I ask this: is there anyone honestly who really did take the Iowa poll with anything more than a grain of salt? Because I feel like I am being gaslit by people who saying people were truly thinking Iowa would flip? I feel like I saw more hypotheticals floating around than I did people taking it seriously.
This is yet again a reminder that polls mean jack shit, and don’t know why people put so much weight into them. I think the purpose of polls are truly losing their meaning to people. And, for the record, I would consider the ”blue wall” or whatever they call MN WI PA MI indeed all very close, particularly Michigan.

This entire thread was based on the polls. It was in the name for weeks. And they were all saying that Kamala was going to sweep the swing states. Many people were spouting them as gospel, especially when they all showed Trump losing. Judging from reactions on social media, millions of people were shocked by the outcomes of the election.
Just because neither you or I trust the polls, many people do. I'm curious though. Since the polls were paid for and published by the corporate media, has that shaken leftists' trust in the media at all?
Whatever helps you sleep better at night. It keeps getting closer to flipping every election thanks to shifting demographics.
Not necessarily a positive thing for Trump, given how badly the interview went. Had Rogan laughing at him, not with him, ranted about "stupid women" criticizing him, and drifted off into his usual dementia word salad while never actually answering the questions asked of him. It's Sarah Palin all over again, only difference being that Republicans no longer have the same standards they did back then. Or any standards, for that matter.
Almost like Rogan is a waste of time and completely irrelevant to the mainstream, eh? Nothing's gonna move the needle as much as Trump wussing out of debates after getting crushed in the first one.
