Do you mean save my game data? Because I can save my ingame data. I do a reset of the flashcard with the card internal button and the card asks me to "BACKUPSAVE" which i can accept with "A".
While powered on, there is no problem, so you can save with the reset button like Everdrive GB X3
If the power is off, SRAM will be initialized after power is consumed inside the cartridge.

I think they went back to SRAM. I ordered my cart a week ago, and to my surprise my chip has the 08 mark. There is no date on the PCB.

In the photo, it appears to be an S71GL032A40.
This is 512KB PSRAM.
That's less than I had before.

Yes, yours will run out of battery within a month.
That sucks. Full text on the chip is "71GL032A40BFW0B". I mistook the 0B for 08.

Will this do as replacement? 1005002695329836 (AliExpress Item ID)

SRAM is represented by 04(512KB) or 08(1MB).
They are now more than twice as expensive as when I bought them.

This is the same one I bought. (S71PL032J08BFW0B)

Still cheaper than getting an Everdrive X7 I suppose. Might order it and replace it soon. So far the EZFlash has been holding its battery fine, I wonder when it will run out. Must be soon. Thanks for all the info and help!

I have a question, does writing to sd save and clear the psram chip? Is there like a procedure to making this work or something?

I have one of these, and I don’t want to return it at this point, even as a base Edgb that I overpaid, I think I’ll keep it and get an rtc cart as well. Not sure if I want the rp2040 or a real rtc cart.

I ended up ordering lir1220 and lir1220 button cell charger to see if it holds. I know the voltage is off, I’m going to Frankenstein it. Hopefully it doesn’t blow out. The replacement would be 14 USD (os v4) and better anyway.

At the end of it all, I should have gotten an x7. XD

I like playing with these things youth, that’s half the game.

PSRAM initialization may occur when the game starts, or it may happen after the save file is written.
To know for sure, the kernel file would need to be analyzed.
