So i have upgraded to firmware 18.1.0 but some of the newer games will not install. Is it ok to update my switch V1 to 19.0.0 without causing problems? Thanks in adavnce

if your games do not install is not a FW problem, install sigpatches and sys-patch. AND DO NOT UPGRADE TO FW 19 if you don't know what are you doing exaclty.

OK thanks for the response. Is there way of knowing if it's the Backup or the switch that is the issue?

Hello, I'm using an OLED Modded Switch. After putting it in sleep mode overnight, I woke up to find the screen entirely black, though the volume and power options still appeared over the black screen. I reset the console, and now emuMMC won’t boot anymore, though sysMMC is working fine. Atmosphere seems functional as well. I tried reinstalling Atmosphere, but emuMMC still won’t get past the Nintendo Switch logo during boot. Any ideas on what might be causing this?

I succeeded to install my game by tinwoo installer via ns-usbloader but it was written that my game needed update to work, i downloaded that one but now, when i try to launch the game it's written that i had an error and go back to home screen. Can someone help please ?

When you said sysnand do you meant it only boot into OFW? since you mentioned emunand emummc.

Sounds like you have your prod.info blanked out via incognito mode. You need to restore your prod.info and set up dnsmitm. Google or search box here is your friend.

The terms eMMC, MMC and NAND trend to be confused because all are components of the same device.

• eMMC is the physical chip
• NAND is the technology of the flash storage portion of the chip. That's why people mix the terms
• MMC is a protocol for communication and transfer of the information between the chip and the device.

So: eMMC is an embedded memory solution that combines NAND Flash memory, an embedded MMC (MultiMediaCard) controller, and advanced firmware in a small BGA (Ball Grid Array) package that provides stable, yet cost effective high-density embedded storage.


Inside the NAND flash storage there are several portions, as far I know BOOT0, BOOT1 and firmware. the terms EmuMMC and EmuNAND (this last is the correct one) are terms used to refer a emulation of the device chip using files or a raw partition space on the SD Card. a software layer is created by the bootloader of CFW which intercept the console MMC communication and forward it to the virtual eMMC created using the EmuNAND data.

no, i meant sysCFW (its also running atmosphere, in the settings it appears as AMS 1.7. |S like how emuMMC appears as AMS 1.7. |E)
so my guess is emuMMC got corrupt and broken out of the blue, and now i have to rebuild it?

Then it is probably the emunand if your system glitch and sysnand cfw boot fine.

Yes, but if you used exosphere to blank your prod.info I believe it will still throw that error. Do you have airplane mode on for your emuMMC? If not, try turning it on. You could also try unlinking and relinking your account using Linkalho to see if that works. If neither help, then it's down to restoring your prod.info. Someone can correct me if I'm mistaken.
