So i had this drive since 2019, it was working perfectly, until few days ago, i was using it like everyday, copying files, then windows explorer froze, i didnt understand what happened, because the browser and everything was working fine, i had to reboot the pc, it didn't boot , was stuck on loading ring screen, after unplugging this drive, it booted normally.
i was talking to seagate support they sent me their premium tool, i tried recovering data, the drive is there on the list, when i start looking for data, the app crashes.
diskpart is random, sometimes shows drive online, but no other info, othertimes it is not there.
tried linux and raspberry pi and gparted, nothing, the drive can't be mounted.
please help, my life's memories, photos, and minecraft server are there lol

Is the drive in an enclosure or not? Is it under some kind of warranty (e.g. data recovery)?

I ask because if the drive is in an enclosure and uses a SATA to USB adapter, in the past I've had USB HDDs where the adapter failed and removing the drive from the enclosure and using a different adapter/SATA connection got it working again.

Obviously try other things first e.g. a different USB cable.

Tried different enclosure, also plugging it directly to the motherboard, nothing, for now, using this seagate premium recovery tool, i can see the drive on the list, and its serial number, but still can't recover anything

What happens if you try a surface scan in seatools?

On Linux does it still appear in /dev? I ask because maybe ddrescue might be able to help.

I think it did show once i tried it on Linux under /dev
