Are you running on Aroma or Tiramisu?

Walkthrough of how to locate the installed files: https://gbatemp.net/threads/new-to-...on-about-virtual-consoles.465095/post-9374490I'm using Aroma and just tried its ftp, but I can't access any files that says wiiu/games in the nand, there's just
fs and there's a content folder down the line but no games.
How do I access the right folders in the wii u itself?
-I guess i should add that I injected using UWUVCI AIO (and installed with wup installer
Thanks but this is only for with an external drive, while I wanted to know for the nand.Walkthrough of how to locate the installed files: https://gbatemp.net/threads/new-to-...on-about-virtual-consoles.465095/post-9374490
IIRC it's the same file structure - you just look under storage_mlc instead of storage_usb.Thanks but this is only for with an external drive, while I wanted to know for the nand.
I'd still like to know, though for now I found one solution for the program I'm using, in the thread, to put the files in the base game when injecting, and it worked for me. It's just it would be useful to know how the folder paths work for the nand, something so simple but I can't find the info on xD.
I didnt see that but ill try to look for it next time i check.IIRC it's the same file structure - you just look under storage_mlc instead of storage_usb.
seconding this - playing these games on my CRT is a treat, and it looks incredible on CRT. But it requires using DS Fullscreen Widescreen(TV) and Bottom Screen Widescreen (WII U PAD), meaning the gamepad will always be stretched gameplay, whereas the CRT looks perfect. I'll include a pic as an exampleThis is really nice, blew up my mind!
The Fullscreen Widescreen while setting your Wii U resolution to 16:9 while outputting to CRT 4:3 is perfection thank you! This is the way to play Chrono Trigger.
If its not too much, can you add another 2 options for the fullscreen widescreen?
1. Top Screen DS Fullscreen Widescreen(TV), Bottom Screen DS Standard DS Resolution (Wii U Pad)
2. Bottom Screen DS Fullscreen Widescreen on(TV), Top Screen DS Standard DS Resolution(Wii U Pad)
You could always manually edit the layout values within the files and get the Gamepad in a normal resseconding this - playing these games on my CRT is a treat, and it looks incredible on CRT. Oh yeah? that's great news, was there a post explaining how to do so?You could always manually edit the layout values within the files and get the Gamepad in a normal res

You must not have a US Wii U. See my advice for the same issue someone asked about earlier.I'm going to be trying this out later today, but would it be possible to develop some sort of automatic application on the console itself that applies these layouts to every NDS VC/Inject on your console? I'm unsure of how feasible it would be to automatically detect what is and isn't an NDS VC game but at the very least having the ability to apply these from the console itself instead of using FTPiiU would be a godsend.
I have a TON of DS VC games, so atm I'm going through all of them to see their IDs one by one so that I can find them with FileZilla...

Things went pretty well! It was a bit fiddly to set up FTPiiU for the first time and to find where exactly to find the files in question, but I got it to work and tested it on one game (Apollo Justice - Ace Attorney).
It works perfectly except that none of the new descriptions appear to work properly? It simply returns #NO_TEXT# on any description not originally in the files. What's going on here?

Strings.json is the file in question, without the file directory in front of me, I can't tell you where exactly to go, but you need to move out from the us_en folder to the folder that is appropriate for your region and language. That would be that because you're not on a US English Wii U, that it's not pulling the descriptions from the same file location. Not sure where exactly you want to put the file in question, but I'm sure if you do a little searching and testing you can figure it out.
Thank you! I peeked into the file directories myself and found that EU consoles store English strings under "eur_en". So for anyone else with a PAL Wii U reading this: Go into wherever you extracted the DS Layouts ZIP, navigate to 0100/data/strings/, and copy the "en" folder that's there. Paste the copy and rename it to "eur_en". Having both there at once didn't seem to hurt the implementation but you can delete the "en" folder if you want. You must not have a US Wii U. a way to apply the filter/patches to all DS games would be so good, especially since a lot of games are injects and it's a little hard to find what the ID is for it hahaI'm going to be trying this out later today, but would it be possible to develop some sort of automatic application on the console itself that applies these layouts to every NDS VC/Inject on your console? sorry for the double post fellasdepending on how you have the game...
you would edit the configuration.json file within the unpacked ds game. use nus converter to unpack your game and navigate down the folder path, starting at content folder, until you get to configuration.json.
i would edit that file with notepad++, then adjust the desired resolutions.
Sorry for the double post. I finally tried this out, and I could NOT understand all the text displayed in the configuration.json. All I wanted to do was edit the bottom-screen's resolution to the normal aspect instead of widescreen (for the dual widescreen option). Is there any way someone can help guide me in this? Maybe in the terminology or anything loldepending on how you have the game...

Whatever those borders are, it wasn't something added with these layout changes. So it's not something I can change with these layout changes unfortunately. If it's a bizarre byproduct and it annoys you too much, you may just have to revert to only the official layouts.Hi everyone, I don't know if the issue has already been reported but on the top screen on tv / touch screen on gamepad layout (not stretched), there's those border acting like YouTube ambiant mode. In games (I tested on Pokemons) every time you talk to npc, or just any textboxs appears it change the screen contrast... Kind of, hard to explain it. I'm still investigating to know if it causes because of the base rom or not. Is it possible to put back blacks normal border for this layout ?
I see... I'm using the Uwuvci inject option "add layout" which tell us that it takes layout from https://gbatemp...etc your thread url. So I thought you choose to use these transparent borders. And I wanted to use between this layout and the one with the little touche screen and big top screen which has less border than the official one so he touch screen can be bigger.Whatever those borders are, it wasn't something added with these layout changes.
