I have a switch that has a black screen

When I plug it in the computer the computer makes the sound that a device is connected.

I tried all the different button combinations in this video and only I only hear the computer sound nothing shows up on the screen



What could the issue be?

The only thing I am thinking of is dead screen?

Is it safe to reset my EMUMMC to factory settings after ripping a bunch of games. I don't want to manually have to remove all of them from the home screen one at a time. What is the best way to reset the console?

I have downloadable content from my nintendo account - how do I back it up. This is why I want to boot to my OFW so I can login, download it and then backup the data, and use on emummc. Is that possible? If so, how?

Still trying to get a handle to how a mod will change my switch, currently with a virgin switch when I put in a game cartridge it wants to go online and update before it will launch. if i understand it correctly you can still do this if you launch from Hekate OF and not CFW?

If this switch is used by kids i am afraid they could launch the wrong firmware and get banned quickly.

Both of my Nintendo Switch (og that modded and OLED non-modded) give me an error saying they can't read my physical copy of Fire Emblem Warriors (2017) for some reason. I tried it cleaning with qtips, cloth, rubbing alcohol, etc., all the common methods. I don't want to damage the cartridge, but my guess is that the chip is broken.

I want to know that if I install a XCI of that physical game using tinfoil or any similar method in CFWsysnad will I get banned, or if it will detect the XCI as my physical copy.
Also, if that will translate to normal sysnand.

The only downside is that even though my account registered in both consoles, because it is a XCI it can't be played on my non-modded OLED Switch.

Or in any case, will it wiser and advisable to buy the digital version of the game trough the eShop.

Any usage of CFW/homebrew can get you banned. The offence does not matter to Nintendo. Also sysMMC is still sysMMC if you load CFW or OFW.

Sure, you can factory reset your emuMMC from within the System Settings. In order to boot into OFW, simply don't boot through CFW. But if you boot OFW, you won't be able to backup your downloadable content. You must boot into CFW in order to that which puts you at risk for being banned. What I would recommend doing if you really want to use your downloadable content on emuMMC without getting banned is by pirating that content online.

Firmware does not matter when it comes to hacking a Switch unless your console is patched and the firmware in question is 4.1 which is a very small group of individuals. You can still update and go online after hacking but it comes with a few caveats.

Is it possible to transfer saves from the banned v1 to the OLEDs Sysnand without getting banned on my OLED?

I am planning to use the OLED as my main Switch that i still can go online with.

If i setup Emunand properly (with incognito and making sure Emunand is always offline) Can i still use Sysnand online safely without getting banned?


Here is what i wanna do to make it cleared for you guys:

I played "backups" on my banned V1. Those games have save files.

I want those save files to be on my OLED switch, but i want them on Sysnand, so if i decide to buy the game. That i can play where i left off.

How can i safeish do this without getting banned on my OLED. Because i still wanna play Mario Kart & Smash online on my OLED.

If you have SX Core you can either use SX Gear to boot into Hekate or change the bootloader to Spacecraft-NX.

Okay had a look today. Think it was actually an unpatched console with SX OS 3.0.5, system version 10.2.0. Kept crashing too whenever I went into the Options menu lol.

I am trying to install a game (Mario wonder) and it fails, I've tried a number of downloads and they all fail.

I ran into this problem a while back and blinkinator told me how to fix it and I got the game I wanted installed but its been so long since I've done anything to this switch that I've forgotten what it was.


I have something in my mind that its sigpatches, I tried using the auto update but that does not fix it but I seem to remember having to manually replace files but can't remember what or where they are?

I have updated atmosphere to 1.6.2, the system version is 14.1.1

Please can someone remind me of what I need to do?

You have to ask yourself: what is more important, your save data or being banned? If you prioritize your save data, then you can use any homebrew save manager such as JKSV to transfer the save data from one console to another. If you prefer not being banned, then you will just have to restart your save data. There is no in between; transferring of save data without going through the official channels will raise a red flag to Nintendo.

When you say use daybreak to update the firmware, do you mean bring the emummcto date but without having to build emummc from scratch using the sysnand?

I opened daybreak and I'm greeted by a install or exit option and selecting install opens a new page asking me to select an update folder and Dont know what do do from there?

Googled it and downloaded the firmware, updating it turned out turned out to be way easier than I expected!

So it is still possible to transfer my saves from my banned V1 switch to my OLED's system nand. (Using JKSM or something like that.)

sorry if its the wrong place to ask, but since i am on 17.0.0.....my PKMN S/V stucks on the switch loading screen and then crashes with an error (software couldnt be started). does anyone else have that prob? maybe trinity modloader is the reason? i am not sure.

Sigpatches (the patches that make "backups" look legit and boot) are currently broken on 17.0.0. Use AIO Switch Updater to download the 16.0.3 update package (or download the update package manually) then Daybreak to downgrade back to 16.0.3 for the time being.

I wanna cry and hope someone can help me figure out this mess please.

Last night i managed to update my firmware using daybreak, installed the game i wanted, tested it and all was good.

I then tried to install something else and it did something to my sd card and all partitions vanished apart from one which now had some funky name.

I Accept i am going to have to re do the console and get cracking, formatted and re partitioned the SD and created a new emummc but when I try to boot CFW I'm getting the warning in red text 'unknown pkg1 version hos version not supported'

And anyone point me to the solution please.

Use the latest Atmosphere and Hekate.

Sigpatches (the patches that make "backups" look legit and boot) are currently broken on 17.0.0. Use AIO Switch Updater to download the 16.0.3 update package (or download the update package manually) then Daybreak to downgrade back to 16.0.3 for the time being.

But that doesnt have anything to do with Sigpatches... Game works without mods, but crashes with... Both Scarlet and Violet using different mods.
