Yep, pretty much, you just re-inject the payload. Remember that if you updated Hekate, you also want to update the payload, although it's not strictly enforced in the case of Hekate, since the older payload will detect if a new version is installed on the SD card and boot it instead.

Thanks again for your help.

Question about updating Atmosphere--is it possible to do so offline, i.e. by overwriting the existing atmosphere on the SD card?

Question about updating Atmosphere--is it possible to do so offline, i.e. by overwriting the existing atmosphere on the SD card?
I would backup the contents of your SD card (especially atmosphere folder) to your PC and delete atmosphere folder from SD card afterwards. After that, I'd grab the latest release (v1.6.2) and paste it on the root of your SD card, overwriting existing files if prompted (it'll be NROs in the switch folder, which is fine). Other than that, I'd set up the DNS MITM the way it's mentioned here.

However, in case you modified or added anything else within atmosphere folder by yourself, either find the missing files from the backup you've made and/or update by copying newer version if available from respective repositories. Make sure to grab latest sigpatches, as well as latest Hekate.
Yeah I do have one. I’m just wondering if I should run a test first or if I can go ahead with the jailbreak?
Sure, here's the complete guide.

Hello, wondering what is the latest firmware available for that hwfly chip?
Seems like I had 0.31 or 0.32 and it got somehow corrupted - version is just bunch of symbols and it does fail to glitch sometimes showing the error (see pictures). If someone can provide the latest one for it - it would be great. Also, can I update using NO SD screen option for update? or it has to be usb method only?

It's perfectly possible to update Atmosphere offline, that's what I do, always. As @Blythe93 mentioned above, I wouldn't overwrite, I just delete the old one, and then replace with the new. So basically, I delete the bootloader folder's content, except for the .ini files (to keep Hekate's settings). I also delete the atmosphere folder. Then I copy the new Atmosphere and Hekate folders to the SD card. Everything can be done through your old Hekate with USB transfer, no need to pull out the SD card from your Switch. Copy the new firmware folder to the SD card too, if you're also updating the firmware. Don't forget to also copy the sigpatches, they are kind of useful. Then it's a matter of rebooting and installing the firmware with daybreak. I'm just about to do it today (updating to firmware 17.0) because the final wave of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is releasing this week, and I want to be ready to install it right away. :D

So anything I try to start (besides tinfoil for some reason) just freezes my switch on the menu forcing me to turn it off and on, no errors or nun. This happened after awoo failed installing a title to my sd due to space (already removed the leftovers from this failed install, that was the last time I could get the options pane to come up).

How can I recover from this?
Since you mentioned Awoo-Installer, how are you trying to launch it?

Normally I start it through hb menu (loaded over an app holding R while starting any app), however my switch currently won't do that (see quote)🤣

Also; very cool that you point me towards here stating the answer is here and then not linking the answer. 2100 pages is alot to sift through and I wouldn't even know which search terms to use.

Edit: let me clarify; tinfoil is installed to the home menu, and is the only thing that does not freeze the switch when trying to start. Other titles (installed games) all freeze HOS.

Sounds like something could be wrong with your title override. Before doing anything, I'd recommend backing up any cheats or game mods you may have installed. Once you do that, you should delete your current /atmosphere folder and download a new one from the official GitHub page. While you're at it, you might as well update Fusee if you're not using the latest version already or Hekate if you use that instead of Fusee.

Unlikely that it's something related to title override, that wouldn't explain why it also happens when I try to open settings or my user profile or when I try to boot a game regularly.. I'll still give this a shot though when I get back home :P

...Does anyone have like, an up to date guide on dumping games and everything? I haven't been on this site in a long time, and this is driving me insane. The whole lockpick situation and no matter what I do I can't dump a game's romfs. Lockpick seemingly works (tried different versions too), but when trying to dump a game with the nxdumptool thing, I get missing keys error, or something about missing headers...? It tells me to use Lockpick...despite doing that ten bajillion times. I'm out of ideas...just want to dump a couple of small eshop games to see if they're moddable...ugh...

just wanting to clarify the difference between picofly and hwfly based on RP2040, from what i can make out the hwfly is a few more euro now 15. The main difference I see is less soldering to the main board as it used the mmc socket. Which im all in favour for.

I assume software wise they now run the same.

Concerning Lockpick, It depends what firmware you're on. If you want the latest and most complete keys, you need to run Lockpick on the latest firmware, which is 17.0.0 right now. You also need an updated Lockpick compatible with it. Your keys should go from 00 to 10 (in hexadecimal). That's 17 keys total. Check the picture posted just below what I linked to verify if your keys are complete, and then try again.

edit: Also, if you're on firmware 17.0.0, there is a compatible version of nxdumptool posted on the github just two days ago. Try it. I haven't tested it myself, though.

So I currently have the switch powered down, had to remove the SD card after all.

Currently have the SD card with the old atmosphere.

Here's what I plan to do, as per your info:
1. Delete bootloader and atmosphere.
2. Via Pc, place new atmosphere and hekate folders.
3. Not sure where to get the firmware folder?
4. Install the firmware, it's been so long I forget how to do this step.

May I get a bit of advice on step 3 and 4?

Yeah I tried the rewrite thing and it still wouldn't let me get the romfs, just giving me missing keys/headers errors and stuff again. :c

No idea about an updated Lockpick, since its main github page has been axed a while ago. I even tried this "picklock" thing that's apparently supposed to support v17.0.0 and I still get the same errors. :/

You just need to download the firmware and extract the zip to a folder on the SD card. Search Google for darth (you'll have to combine with another word to find it, unless you want to get Darth Vader results. )

Once the folder is sitting on your SD card, you can install it with daybreak (included with Atmosphere in the homebrew folder).

Can't help you any further, as I never even used nxdumptool myself. The picklock thing does fully support v17.0.0, as it does its job and dump the keys properly. The rest is up to you and nxdumptool. Maybe someone who uses that homebrew can help you, hopefully. Good luck!
