This reminds me a few years ago a friend asked me to help him choose a game to play with his niece. She liked Lego and dinosaurs so we end up getting Lego Jurassic Park. A few weeks later he told me they ended up paying the same levels over and over again because there was only one or two she could play with a female character.

We need to teach kids what they do not need have a hero which looks exactly like them.

I really love a character but if that character is not available I can play with any other. period.

The problem is when there are no heroes that look like them. She was like 5 or so back then. Kids end up choosing other characters or growing interests in other types of games because the subliminal message they get is that it is aimed for other types of kids. They want to connect.
