Even have continuous telephone numbers.

Some years ago, I did know all the phone numbers of all my neighbors because all numbers was consecutive, the first 5 numbers was the same and the other 2 was the door number, so calling any neighbor was very easy.

It totally wasn't that back in my days O.O
back then (90's), my phone number ended with 3158 (yes i still remember), and my address was 1530 (^^)
As for having only 7 digits in our phone number, I do remember that though

Back then on the 1985 all the child of the block used to play on the street, we was around 20 kids, and used to play so many games outside on the street, the cars normally stopped and wait for us. The worst was playing football soccer because our street is slopped 25° so if the ball run away you need to to run with all your strength and normally will catch the ball 2 blocks down
So a unspoken rule was: the one who kick the ball is the one who has to run after it.
