Good morning everyone.

I just wanted to say to anyone involved in this project how marvellous the PS1 emulation on Wii has become!

R-Type used to run around 45 fps, but now it's totally playable, same for Megaman 8 and, quite frankly, any game I have tried!

Just a little question : I was under the impression you could use the classic controller (which ressembles the PS1 controller much more than my GC controller), but all I seem to be able to select is the combo Wiimote+nunchuk? Am I doing something wrong?

Anyway, for someone who had skipped this generation almost entirely back in the days, it's really exciting to discover some of these games in such optimal conditions!

Thank you so much for this!

Yours truly.
Are you using the Classic Controller Pro, that one seems to giving people issues.

Btw, before ill go to bed, here's my latest status report, take notes.

Asuka 120% Special (J) - Works, full speed, no issues, perfect.

Asuka 120% Excellent (J) - Works, full speed, voice samples during cutscenes seem lower tough?

Asuka 120% Final (J) - Works, full speed, no issues, perfect

Battle Arena Nitoshinden (J) - (Not to be confused with the first Toshinden game, this is a SD spinoff in the vein of Virtua Fighter Kids) - Works, full speed, no issues, perfect

Battle Arena Toshinden 2 (J) - Boots, full speed, but game doesn't behave properly? cant access options, nor play matches on VS CPU for more then 10sec timer, and Watch+ is just a watch mode, no story mode? what happened?

Battle Arena Toshinden 2 Plus (J) - Works, full speed, no issues, perfect (why this one and not the vanilla one?)

Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon Super S (J) - Works, full speed, no issues, shit game XD

Bomberman Party Edition (US) - Works, full speed, no issues, perfect.

Bomberman Wars (J) - Works, full speed, no issues, perfect

Bomberman World (US) - Works, full speed, no issues, perfect

Bombing Islands (US) - Works, no issues, full speed, perfect (btw this is the original version of that n64 game Charlie Blast's Territory, aunque usted no lo crea!)

Bubble Bobble : Also featuring Rainbow Islands (U) - Works, full speed, but graphics on Bubble Bobble are badly scaled without T.Filter.

Bust a Move 99 (US) - Works, full speed, no issues, perfect

Buster Bros. Collection (US) - Works, full speed, but graphics scaling is messed up, use T.Filter

Capcom Generation - Dai-2-shuu Makai to Kishi (J) - Works, full speed, no issues with Ghost n Goblins and Super Ghost N Ghouls, but Ghosts N Ghouls arcade has a weird issue with its soundtrack, doesnt not play right, as it, all the notes are all over the place, hard to epxlain, but boot it in

Chou Kousoku Grand Doll (J) - Boots, but after the FMV intro, games does not recognize any inputs, not even the home button on the Classic Controller!, no bullshit, the game, soft locks the emulator!

Dragon Ball GT Final Bout (US) - Works, full speed, no issues, shit game, just like its Japanese counterpart XD

Dragon Ball Z Ultimate Battle 22 (US and J) - Both versions work, full speed, no issues in Japanese version, US version has some weird visual glitch in one of the warning screen where its hyper stretched vertically but then corrects itself, shit games tough XD

Fantastic Night Dream: Cotton Original (J) - Works, Full speed, no issues, perfect (cant emulate arcade original on wii, play this instead!)

Fatal Fury Wild Ambition (U) - Works, full speed (game itself seems sluggish tough i looked it up gameplay footage and that's just how it seems to be), no issues, perfect.

Resident Evil Director's Cut (Vanilla) - Works, full speed, no issues, perfect!

Rockman Battle & Chase (J) - Works, full speed (all native 15fps LOL), no issues, perfect!, happy to say this still works because it was one of the few games i could run at full speed back when WiiSX RX got resurrected and before it was rebranded to Wiistation, now with 240p on our side, i can safely say there's no need to ever rely on Megaman X Collection on GCN, besides that version is missing the commentators and end pictures, i think capcom just slapped the PAL version in there, not sure if it was converted to NTSC.

Rockman 8 / Rockman X4 / Battle and Chase (Sampler Disc) (J) - Works, full speed, no issues, perfect! (and yes, for the sake of progress, we need to manage to make ALL demo discs work!, before the new lighrect i had at least one Demo Sampler Dsi crash the emulator.

Good call!

I tried connecting my "plain" classic controller instead of the "pro", and it gave me the "classic controller" input configuration instead of the "wiimote+nunchuk" I was stucked on before.

Now I can even connect my pro controller, even if it is detected as classic, but that's not much of an issue.

The input configuration is much more closer to the original PS1, and you can come back to the emulator by pressing home, instead of key combination.

Word of advice while I'm here : it seems some games are having trouble if you choose "analog" for your controller. I know Megaman 8 wouldn't respond, but as soon as I switched back I'd be able to control the game again.

Hope this will be useful, have a nice day!

Errrrrr MeXen....Why on Hell do you list WORKING games?? Are you going to put all psx working games, that is 90%
ONLY list games with problems, that is clearly nice and enough. No shoots in your tests??

3 more tests.

Bubsy 3D (oh boy) - This piece of shit struggles around 45-555fps half the time

Cooly Skunk - Works, fullspeed, no issues, perfect

Darkstalkers 1 - Works, fullspeed, bad scaled pixels without trap filter, otherwise perfect.

Forgot to say last post cause it was 3 am when i made it, but after testing 10 games more or less, Wiistation loses ALL sound, even when you switch games, you need to restart the app.

Also all of the games that suffer from bad pixel scaling can be fixed if you use the Trap filter, which seems to be mandatory for these, and they all seem to be arcade ports with weird aspect ratios.

Bruh, you know that games could brake between versions right? Tetris with Card Captor Sakura used to work (tough not a fullspeed) on pre-Wiistation versions, now it doesn't! also i tend to play each game for more then 5 minutes, that's how i got the DSI crashes on Street Fighter EX 2 Plus and one of the Demo Samplers, also i tend to detect minor issues that others might take for granted.

And yes, i am digging balls deep into obscure games, japanese ones specially. (only one game had a softlock, Chou Kousoku Grand Doll (J))

Out of curiousity, why is it called a "Trap" filter? I don't think I've ever heard that term for a graphic filter before.
I think it helps smooth the ''in between pixels'' used in dithering for games that use it without relying on the rainbow banding effect caused, without ever goin full bilinear.

Continuing, i should also point out that i Never use dithering on my playtesting.

Alone in the Dark - The New Nightmare (US) - Works, full speed, but background audio issues, like thunder sound bytes sound horribly bit crushed.

Building Crush! (J) - Works, Full Speed, No issues, Perfect!

Croc - Legend of the Gobbos (USA) - Works, full speed, no issues, seems perfect, but i haven't gotten any further.//

Final Fantasy Chronicles - Chrono Trigger (US) - Works, full speed, but badly scaled graphics, and on this one at least the Trap Filter fix doesn't work that well, and even crushes the text font and resolution.

G. Darius (US) (NO, not Gradius, xp) - Works, but once music starts playing during the stages, it slows down to 40fps, i turned on framskipping and half the time it switched to 30fps but non demanding parts when full speed again.

Gakkou no Kowai Uwasa - Hanako-san ga Kita!! (Japan) - Works, full speed, some silly FMV game, whatever.

Galaxy Fight - Universal Warriors (J) - Works, Full Speed, No issues in emulation itself, but its the ps1 port with messed-up scaled sprites (Again the Trap.filter doesnt help here), play it on Retroarch instead XP (WakuWaku7 is better tough)

Gamera 2000 (J) - LOL what the fuck is up with the voice acting, anyways, i was surprised to find out this kaijuu based game wasn't a strategy game, japanese card battle game or a fighting game, but a 3D shooter ala Panzer Dragoon or Elemental Gearbolt, and it works, full speed, play trough first two levels, no issues! so far, so good.

Godzilla - Trading Battle (Japan) - Works, full speed, no issues, but godzilla deserved a better game

Makeruna! Makendo 2 (Japan) - Another game that worked since pre-Wiisation days, no issues, full speed, but its on SNES as well and its not much different.

It helps to remove some artifacts from composite signals. It is supposed to only affect composite output but someone mentioned earlier that is makes the pixels a bit blurry so I added it as an option.

I guess an unintended side effect is that it makes improperly scaled games look a bit better without blurring as much as a bilinear filter.
Not sure though, as I don´t have any high quality upscaler devices to test it out myself.

It is nice to see which games work full speed anyways, by my own estimate since lightrec has been released as well as the software graphics optimizations by extrems I'd say 95 percent of the PSX library is full speed and playable, 3 percent playable if you disable dithering and enable frameskip and 2 percent of the library still suffers from crashes, although earlier versions of the lightrec builds or the old dynarec builds can be used to play those games. I've been playing quite a lot of playstation games since these releases, it's awesome!

Hey fellas, guess what, i just made an attempt at a more up to date compatibility list on this build.

Feel free to fill it up with your tests and experiences fellas.

Oh and thank you for fixing the music sync.

This should fix some of the scaling issues in 240p mode:
https://github.com/Jokippo/WiiSXRX_2022240p/releases/tag/v2.4-240pV8
This change also happens to fix Ghost in the Shell. It might break some other games, but the games I tested seem fine.

I have also included the latest changes xjsxjs197 made which may fix other things as well.

good idea to add a column for the version of wiistation tested on to keep track

tests The King of Fighters, in the previous version send it to the Wii home menu
gettin into it, i will test all of the games and even the other SNK ports. yes the shitty ones too.

now testing the games, but right off the bat, i can tell you some issues i am having with Bust a Groove 1 & 2, No matter what i do in the main game, i just cannot win and i get no proper input reading there, as in, no matter what i do, i cant win a single round! even on practice mode in BaG2 i cant figure it out to get the timing right,

Oh and Double Dragon deathlock on Overdrive Mode during VS loading screens

Well, here's tonight's report.

I really cannot reproduce the issue you have with shaman king, it did work for me on the first lightrec build of WiiSX and I didn't try it on Wiistation but I'd wager it still behaves the same.

We'll i am ONLY focusing on Wiistation because this is the one that gets the most constant updates, small as they might be, and we got 240p first :P, plus many games that work here still dont there as far as i know.

Btw, i need to know how to share the Compatibility list in a way that people can actually open it a new browser to avoid clunkyness and being able to add to it themselves.

make one on gbatemp?
just like https://wiki.gbatemp.net/wiki/Nintendont_Compatibility_List

No offense but reading some examples, their explanations sound contradictory for many games, and this list looks horribly outdated, but in the hypothetical case i might get into it, ill try to keep specs clean and simple and very direct, as well as starting from scratch.
when i say clone i means the structure and the game names... you can delete all the rest.
