just tried to play gex deep cover gecko, loaded a save file moved afew steps and got a crash error on screen.
A save State? if it is then sorry to say but that might be an issue.

Playing with the newest v7 build, random musings not solely related to this build:

- This bug is kind of long term, preceding WiiStation and going way back in WiiSX, but thought I'd bring it up. It's a graphical bug in 2d sprites in just a few games which shows up as a small linear smudge in certain sprite frames. Most notably you can see it in Capcom vs SNK Pro, Dhalsim in particular. You can also see it in Rampage Universal Tour, Rampage Through Time and Tecmo's Angel Eyes fighter. Rampage World Tour is unaffected. Not sure if this is something that can ever be fixed, but thought I'd mention it.

- WCW vs The World - background music is kind of distorted. I'm pretty sure this is an audio CD track, because prior to CD audio being added it to the emulator, it used to be a whole lot of nothing.

- Ultraman Fighting Evolution has better performance than it used to. I don't know if it's 100%, but before it definitely wasn't. I can't tell if the parking lot lights on the first stage are supposed to look like that or not. Cardinal Syn also has a notable performance increase, which I'm pretty sure is at or very near 100%. The performance of these games might have increased in a prior version, but I'm only noticing it now.

- This should be a quick fix, and this is my OCD speaking as I look at the Video options, can we change the "oneNo" to "None"? :D

- Not sure this is a fair bug to report, but I've noticed this in a prior build too, if you load enough ISOs(which you do during testing), eventually you lose all audio and have to completely exit and reload WiiStation to get it back. Had this happen a few times now even prior to v7. Under normal circumstances, you most likely wouldn't be doing that amount of loading.

- Street Fighter EX Plus will eventually crash to a DSI screen if you leave it running in demo long enough. I think this was reported before. It has really nice performance otherwise. I had Tekken 2 running in demo mode for hours this afternoon without issue.

edit:

- Jumping Flash 2 isn't working. Either crashes to DSI upon entering the first level or locks up. Not sure if this is ongoing bug or not as this is the first I've tried this game.

I have also noticed that WiiSX and it's derivatives using lightrec will run games smoother than they ran on original hardware as well as load them considerably faster, not that I'm complaining at all. It's one area where I don't mind accuracy being off especially since it doesn't adversely affect game speed. Jumping Flash 2 did run good on the older version of lightrec so it's probably another game that worked before and now doesn't.

Helps to have multiple builds of the same emu on apps since they load the same root directory

Thank you for the FF8 fix, xjsxjs197!

I've tried to play some Digimon Card Battle on this last version. The frame rate seems to be spot on, but it crashes before doing a battle.

On WiiSXRX it doesn't crash, but it's a lot slower, and older Wiistation versions also crashes. I wonder why such a difference.

On the other hand, Torneko plays great, with the latest additions, I would say it's better than playing on original hardware as it looks quite a lot better here than the stretched or interlaced output you get on a real ps1/ps2.

So glad that FFVIII is now fix ! 😌

Thank you xjsxjs197 ! 🙏

Otherwise, I've tested some games with Jokippo's 240p build V7 :

- Breath of Fire III (NTSC)
- Breath of Fire IV (NTSC / French patch)
- Chrono Cross (NTSC)
- Evil Zone (NTSC)
- Final Fantasy Tactics (NTSC)
- FFVII (PAL-FR)
- FFVIII (PAL-FR)
- FFIX (PAL-FR)
- Gex (NTSC)
- Grandia Redux (NTSC / Hack)
- Gran Turismo 2 Plus (NTSC / Hack)
- Parasite Eve (NTSC / French patch)
- Parasite Eve 2 (PAL-FR)
- Resident Evil Director's Cut (NTSC)
- Silent Hill (PAL)
- Suikoden (NTSC)
- Suikoden II (NTSC)
- Vagrant Story (NTSC)
- Xenogears (NTSC / French patch)

Everything seems to be fine at this time, this 240p addition really is a great plus ! 👌
Congratulations !

This emulator is improving so fast... Impressive :0

Between the first release of the WiiSX lightrec, the newer updated release, as well as WiiSX RX 3.3 which is the most compatible version of the old dynarec, I actually haven't encountered a single PSX game that won't run, which is incredible.

I tried Mega Man 8 for a couple of stages and seemed perfect, and without the bilinear filter I'd say this is a better way to play than using the Mega Man Collection that was released on GC. Awesome.

And having RE 1 working is also excellent news. While I love the remake and you have two versions on it on Wii, I also love the original and its cheesy acting, and I always missed a way to play it on this platform, seeing how RE2 and RE3 are available in their original versions (with some improvements though).

you can also play Resident Evil Deadly Silence DS on the wiiu lol if you wanted too :P

That'd be an option if I had a Wii U, but I have Deadly Silence so I can play it on my 3DS anyway. It's just having the original playable on the Wii is neat to me.
