It is safe to update Wii U system software?

I'm on 5.5.4E system software, with Wupinstaller insatlled games on USB HDD, and installed Loadiine, and installed vWii Homebrew Channel.
But there are games that asks for installing newest system software (like Shovel Knight).
Is it safe to install newest system software?
Or i will loose something?

I updated yesterday to the latest version and then installed tiramisu and aroma without any issue, before that I had haxchi.

Also, fro another update (cant remember how long, at least 2022 or 2021) with an update the wiiU suddenly passed from CBHC to just hatchi (didn't borther until yesterday) There is still an explit so afaik is safe to update right now

I have updated (days ago), and installed Tiramisu.
(Indexiine uninstalled)
Everything fine, now I'm installing titles with NUSspli, and WUPinstaller Y mod to USB HDD.
I'm don't using Loadiine anymore.
