Hi, I'm currently trying to transfer my SD card data (with CFW) to another SD card, that has nothing on it. I've just tried to copy all the stuff on my 'old' SD card to a folder and copy the stuff from that folder to the 'new' one, but when I've inserted the 'new' one into my 3ds, there's no homebrew apps or anything on it, just the basic stuff that comes with the 3ds. Do I just have to repeat the 3ds hacking process but on this new SD card...???

I had a similar issue when updating to a new sd card. The new sd card was already formated to fat32, so I just copied things over like you, but the 3DS did not see my files either. I found that the format of the new sd card was not formatted correctly to fat32, like the old card was. I formatted the new sd card like I did my old card, copied files over, and all is fine now. Not sure if will help but good luck! Also read here:https://3ds.hacks.guide/ :grog:

Please take the time to use the search function at top of page.

You will find at least two threads about that exactly subject. Also there is a tutorial. Even is a 3ds noob thread.

For short you need to put THE NEW card on the 3ds at least one time, then put both cards on your pc, you will find a folder:
"SD:\Nintendo 3DS\<32Hexdigits>" on each card, you need to copy everything from your old card to the new card, but you need to copy the content of the OLD "SD:\Nintendo 3DS\<32Hexdigits>" folder to the "SD:\Nintendo 3DS\<32Hexdigits>" ON THE NEW SD.

By example, you old card have:

SD
|-3ds
|-gm9
|-luma
|-Nintendo 3DS
|--ABCDEF1234567890ABCDEF1234567890
|--private

And the new

SD
|-3ds
|-Nintendo 3DS
|--0987654321FEDCBA0987654321FEDCBA
|--private

You must to copy the contents of SD:\Nintendo 3DS\ABCDEF1234567890ABCDEF1234567890 from the old card to SD:\Nintendo 3DS\0987654321FEDCBA0987654321FEDCBA on the new card.

the others folders on the root can be copied exactly.

I didn't have to go thru this? I just copied sd cards n it worked. Is it because I don't use emunand or something? Just curious?

as far I know the SD:\Nintendo 3DS\ABCDEF1234567890ABCDEF1234567890 stores the SD data of the SysNAND, may be if you use Emunand you don't need the additional steps, because the "SD:\Nintendo 3DS\ABCDEF1234567890ABCDEF1234567890" folder is the same for the EmuNAND, I really don't know.

Format it as FAT32 32kb clusters as stated.

Correct. unless separated, meaning you make one folder for sysnand and the other for emunand, but you can use one folder for both.

I'm sorry! It just dawned on me that I only upgraded my micro sd card to a class 10 card , but it was the same size, So files/ file size were the same, Simple copy n paste. Sorry for post.

Make sure the new card is empty before copying the files to it, if it already had a Nintendo 3DS folder on it (because you already inserted it in the 3DS) and you tried to merge them, the content won't show up.

No it was empty, not inserted into the 3DS, freshly formated to fat32, . in fact both cards still work, but I will use the better Sandisk one, cause the other was a cheapy card.

Insert your new SD Card and format it to Fat32 (look up how to format an SD card to fat32 on your system) and transfer all of the files from your old SD to your new SD
