Depriving n00bs from the experience of hunting shoulder button springs on carpet is sacrilege. What are you going to do next, Lucifer? Dig up Hitler and have a tea party?

(kidding…these are damn good tips I wish I had when I first opened the pandora’s box we call joycons!)

Me too. I'm not sure it's the sort of thing you need to make the mistake to learn from it?

I wasn't sure whether to film it? But it'd probably look to bad and un professional the advice would be lost.

Do you think Hitler can tell the difference between Chicken and quorn?

is there a program that allows to write on sdcard without eject it?
more clear: i dont want to remove all time the sdcard to put games or hb's, instead i want just to plug ns to my pc with usb cable and transfer the data i want without sdcard eject and rebboting console.

Hekate let's you do it. From memory its usb tools sd card. If you've got your payloads in your bootloader/payloads folder you can use a payload launcher to get back into Hekate and press payloads fusee.bin to get back to atmosphere.

If you normally boot cfw using launch then cfw emunand then I think you can just restart and it'll boot Hekate.

Hello,

I’m brand new to this scene and have tried to do some research but would like clarification from the pros.

I’m planning to buy a Switch marketed as V1. The serial number on the photo checks out on IsMySwitchPatched and I have asked the seller to charge it for when I arrive. I will check out the serial number on system settings to ensure it matches; is there anything else I have to verify before paying? Does the firmware version matter?

When it comes to installing CFW, do I need anything other than a jig and a big SD card?

It might be a bit of time before I get around to installing CFW. Am I free to update the Switch firmware and play purchased cartridge and e shop games online without preventing myself installing CFW and running homebrew in the future?

Thanks

I know you specifically mentioned USB cable, and @Kallim responded with the perfect solution already for what you asked. It’s exactly what I do as well.

Another thing I run is sys-ftp-light from @cathery. It‘s a small FTPD server that runs in the background upon boot up that allows me to install small things and manipulate files directly from any ftp client (such as the one on my iPad that I’m using to type this message.) If you want to xfer large files like NSPs and such, Hekate UMS (USB) is 100% the way to go, but for light work I can[t say enough about sys-ftpd-light!

Check out this close up money shot!

Not a pro, but I once flew first class w/ Richard Simmons and he yelled at me for being drunk at 10 AM. Told him ”I’m on deal-a-beer, bitch!” and he refused to talk to me for the rest of the flight. This had to be in the 90s because I was still able to smoke on the plane. It was Delta and an International flight and the FAA had banned smoking on all domestic flights.

You can ask if it’s been modded and Online before and if he knows if it‘s been banned. He could technically lie about it but you can prove it by asking him to log onto the eshop. At this point you might get beat up for being a rude dick so proceed at your discretion.

As for what else you’ll need…

You will need a way to inject a payload when you do a cold boot. A PC can do it, as can Rekado on an Android phone, but a lot of folks like the ease of the RCMLoader. You can pick one up for about $10 on Amazon or Aliexpress.

RCM hax are hardware based and this not software/firmware dependent so feel free upgrading to your hearts content. It can never be patched out.

Read up on this guide while you wait for the time to be right and you’ll be fine!

I'm just wondering... Has anyone used android on the switch? And installed rekado to launch a payload on another switch? For some reason my mate wants to try this.

I've been using rekado to install and update hekate since I've had the Switch and I always do it and it's great.

I've used rekado and nx loader. I think you've missed what my mate wants to do.

He wants me to install Android on my switch and rekado as an app on the switch to launch a payload on his ... A bit like a dog chasing is own tail.

Still curiosity has gotten the better of me now. 🤣I need to know if it works.

Do it! For science!

Which is the minimum FW version for FE Engage? I'm on 13, and after installing it, OS did that blank square with a loading, saying it's corrupted. This happened in the past for me when a game had higher FW reqs, so I was just wondering if I'll have to do so. And if yes, should I go 13->14->15 or can I go 13->15 directly?
I already updated ams to latest 1.4.1 and got latest sigs.

I believe base game requires 14.0.0, you should just update to firmware 15.0.1

Just making 100% sure, do nsps installed on my emummc carry over to my sysnand cfw? I'm considering using cfw on the sysnand to play online(without cheats) with graphics mods and maybe overclocking.

Is there a simple list of things to do/not do on sysnand cfw?

Correct, NSP and XCI installed while on Emunand will 100% NOT be on your Sysnand. The only trick is that cheats are tied to Atmosphere (CFW) so homebrew, sysmods and cheats that run on CFW/Emunand will also run on CFW/Sysnand so you have to be careful because some sys-mods are considered unfair advantage and you might have a cheat accidentally enabled for local play that ends up playing through Online.

Herre are some general guidelines:

Site is up (see below)

What DNS servers are you using?

Assuming your switch is hacked. Are you using 90DNS or DNS:mitm and if so, how are they configured?

Using 90DNS. Atmosphere Hosts looks like this:

# Block Nintendo Servers
127.0.0.1 *nintendo.*
127.0.0.1 *nintendo-europe.com
127.0.0.1 *nintendoswitch.*
95.216.149.205 *conntest.nintendowifi.net
95.216.149.205 *ctest.cdn.nintendo.net

If you’re sure you have dns:mitm configured properly (double check file names and content here), you can change your DNS back to default in Settings as dns:mitm does much the same thing that 90DNS does. It appears your are not able to resolve tinfoil with your current DNS settings so putting them back might resolve this for you.

Just tried that and no luck. Any other ideas? I am willing to try whatever you suggest.
