Thanks for the clarification. I'm so used to that resolution being used for anime series and movies back in the day.320x240 is the bottom screen and 640*480 is the camera resolution!

Sounds plausible. But even if one could somehow record the videos in VGA: The cameras themselves are just crap. They were way below standard in 2010. And they do not even take good quality pictures for the VGA resolution. Read: pictures in 640*480 can look better than what DSi and 2|3DS cameras deliver.Even if modifying the 3DS's proprietary software and drivers wasn't a concern, it's probably not possible due to hardware limitations of the camera sensor chip and/or the DSP (digital signal processing) hardware. It just wouldn't be able handle capturing that many frames per second in its full resolution. It's the same for pretty much all cameras and phones too - the maximum resolution of captured photos is higher than the maximum resolution you can record video in.
