my new working 3ds in currently ethier saying when i put in that write portection is on if i turn it on it acts like i ejected it please help i really wanna homebrew my 3ds

If you're using the full sized SD cards, toggle the little switch on the side to the up position.

i am using an microsd to sd adapter i know works i tried to turn off the write proctetion but it just doesnt recongnize it when i turn it off

The recommended size for an SD card would be usually 16 GB SDHC or above. I would recommended setting up a SysNAND.

Try with a different sd card adapter. Also make sure that your sdcard is readable on pc too, and that you can transfer files to it..

The SD card adapter could may well be faulty. Try a different one if you have another lying around, they're not too expensive to pick up.

If none of that works for you, then it could be either down to the microSD card itself or the SD card slot. Fully power off the system and clean the inside of the card slot with isopropyl alcohol and Q-tips to remove any leftover dirt, and then try to see if the card is readable again.

If your using a old 3DS with a standard SDCard slot on the right side, clean the slot like already mentioned and verify the shown single pin on the very edge is not bend. This one recogizes if the switch on the card is set to write protect or not. It needs to be pushed down by the switch to close a circuit and unprotects the card.
