Where can I purchase a good S/N switch?

You can contact the seller to ask about it. Anyways, Switch consoles that are labeled "unpatched" aren't that much more expensive than consoles that aren't labeled anything

I doubt you be able to find one without markup, even used unpatched unit around $200 USD. As for serial number just asks the seller. Brand new unpatched switch complete set cost around 525 to 600+ here in the US

For online international shipping stores the markup is about the same as the cost of a new switch with modchip installed (for regular users, modchip is inferior just if you will mess with Linux or Android, for everything else is just the same).

If you wish to buy locally, go to places that deal with used video games, video game repairs and so on. If you wish to buy a new switch and the modchip and get it installed, any cellphone repair shop can do the job without breaking a sweat.

Some do so in their advertisements and you can ask those who do not for the first 8 digits. Many more will give very strong indicators with words like V1, OG unit, Erista, hackable, etc, etc. I just bought my 4th V1 (this one is for a friend) off of eBay.

That's not going to happen. Brand new unpatched v1s I've seen on ebay are priced at almost 2x original msrp, and people still buy them:

Your best bet is facebook marketplace/craigslist/local classifieds, if people are selling something on ebay they'd definitely look it up first. If you are lucky enough you might find some parents selling their kids stuff and there might be an unused switch from their closet.

Again, at this price you might as well get a chipped v2 or oled, they have much better battery life, runs cooler and are better at overclocking.

indeed. don't use ebay to sell things. I sold my original, white oled locally using facebook marketplace. you have zero fees, while ebay charges 15%, and if you do free shipping, that's another expense. I sold my oled for $300 within a day on facebook marketplace. ebay is for suckers tbh. I wouldn't dare sell anything on there ever again.

that's why people shouldn't be angry about a large markup on say a PS5. 15% plus shipping and tax is like $200. the scalper is likely making less than $100 of the person.

Lower your expectations, the specifics you are asking for are completely unreasonable. If you want it new and unpatched expect to pay double. If you want it used and unpatched expect to pay at least $100 extra. If you want to save a couple of bucks then buy the tablet only. If you want to save a few more then buy a banned tablet. Also, stay off eBay, there are better choices like OfferUp/Facebook/Craigslist/etc.

Usually they are about $50 cheaper than unbanned units, depending on it's condition.

Still, buy a used v2 on facebook/craigslist for about $200, add $80 for modchip, $50 for installation if you can't do it yourself and $20 for 256gb sd card, you get a better switch for the same amount of money (or even less).

You might be able to find one for much cheaper without finding listings with the keywords "banned", "hackable", "unlocked", or any of those. Look at the images for the listing, if you see an image with the serial number shown (being lower) and that the price is affordable, then go for it.

if your finally serious about buying a V1 switch just type in "unpatched switch" in ebay's search bar, just looking on the UK there are quite a few reasonably priced items. if you just wanted the tablet it's as low as £130, as you already have a switch that might be an option.

You could for sure find an unpatched Switch online for not much over MSRP. But, you will not be finding a new one for anywhere near MSRP.

How about you keep your existing Switch for online play and buy a banned tablet only for CFW as others have done, or pay someone to install a chip in the one you already have. It's not that hard to weigh all your options, you're just being needlessly stubborn for some reason. You aren't going to get a hackable brand-new Switch for MSRP. Cope.
