LOZ: Tears of the Kingdom Dynamic fps, static fps, and visual fixes patch collection

LOZ: Tears of the Kingdom Dynamic fps, static fps, and visual fixes patch collection 0.5.0

Leaving 5 stars for the amazing dedication of the modders. However, my timescale is not fixed. At 60fps everything is crazy fast and the game is almost unplayable (flying off cliffs constantly when running). Also, when I get the odd fps tank the game slows to a crawl. I have both the 60fps and dynamic mod installed.
Haven't tested the 4.0 mod, will do so later when off work. Just wondering about the potential 120fps mod seems very intriguing and looking forward to testing that out for sure.
New 0.4.0 crashes on start with Ryujinx. Also tested on Yuzu and it appears Using bumper buttons in the inventory menu is speed up making things hard to navigate.
In regard to the patches that crash Ryujinx: By combining everything back into one file, I have confirmed that the order in which these patches load makes a huge difference. If whichever FPS patch you use is placed BEFORE any other patch and the problematic ones are placed last, it won't crash and FPS seems to be more stable in general. As a test, I created two folders with patches and inserted comment lines with the # prefix so I could see their load order. It definitely respects folder name for the order, so I would recommend giving these folders a numbered prefix to control this.

Also, on the subject of naming conventions: Can you guys stick to one archive name with the version number in it? It just helps with organization.
So far so good! I have noticed a little bit of stuttering, but I don't know if it is more than what I already experienced. Also, even though the cutscenes aren't running at 60fps, the fact that they're capped at 30 fixes the main issue I was afraid of: Double speed cutscenes. Overall, I'm happy with this progress so far! Thank you!
Feels amazing at 60FPS. The only problem so far is that the physics doesn't match the release version exactly. You can test this yourself by climbing up a straight wall. At 60fps, you will climb about 95% as high as at 30fps, and it will take about 5% longer to get there. This isn't a huge deal, but it's the sort of issue I would expect if the physics engine is being run at twice the tick rate. Is that what this patch does?
Works great! cycled through the mods and have a beautiful smooth 60 fps widescreen gameplay. I also use color correction reshade and the Backscreen selection screen fix. which can be found by googling "60 FPS Mod Black Screen Fix (not thoroughly tested)" and it is the first reddit post. you can also google the widescreen mod and reshade pretty easily.
Works great. But there is a newer version of theboy181s cutscene fix with a few more lines (called v2 while this is v1)
These mods work wonderfully to improve the performance and enjoyability of the game, thank you!
I'd also like to suggest, if possible, the creation of a No Cel Shading mod similar to the one done for BotW. I prefer the non cel shaded look for the game, and I'd love to see such a mod for TotK.
Thanks again!
I was using yuzu 1437. upon changing to EA 3594 it fixed the 48 fps problem. I am using all the up to date mods
Please provide a more detailed description of the mods.
Noob does not understand what he needs to include.
I really appreciate your non-toxicity. Thank you for your work.
(Note:Ryujinx user. Enabled FSR it works. Completely took out LoD as it won't even launch the game just crashes)
Updating an older review, all works well everywhere and in the depths. Tested out cutscenes too those being the blood moon one and one of the tears memories. In addition i was also able to bump the graphics to 3x while still maintaining smooth gameplay in the depths which i had complained about prior. Side note I complained about the skeleton horses causing the game to slow down when riding them in thr depths I haven't got a chance to find one and ride one yet to see if that persists. Once I do, I'll re update this review.
Thank you for enhancing this beautiful game to you and anyone else contributing.

Thank you very much, I'm using steam deck yuzu emulator, do I need those mods?Thank you very much, I'm not a premium user, currently I just add all mods
Everything seems to work perfectly, but something to do with the latest release causes a bug in the weapon selection screen, much like what HomaPTZ described with the ability radial menu (black background during selection)
Great work,Thank you!
Mod works wonders, however. I wish I could understand why I'm suddenly getting random crashes that even crash my entire emulator and not the game itself only.

Otherwise, great mod & work!
This is the first time I'm commenting here since the mod was released. I've been testing it since the beginning, and even with this latest version, the 60FPS mod never worked for me. The game always ran in slow motion, and yes, I followed all the recommendations and instructions, every single detail, but it never worked. I downloaded and installed all the mods from this latest version, except for the LOD mod, which doesn't work. Ryujinx crashes, but the rest of the mods are working normally. Now, at 60 FPS, the game is no longer in slow motion. There are still some FPS drops, but they don't really interfere with the gameplay. Even underground, it runs smoothly, which wasn't possible even without the mod. It used to drop to 10 FPS, which was terrible, but now I'm having fun again. Thank you, and keep improving these mods. Another point, the cutscenes still have issues. They start correctly, but halfway through, they become out of sync.

My PC is an Intel i7 9th gen, 16GB RAM, GTX 1660 with 6GB. It's not top-notch, but it's not bad either. Anyway, thanks for the mods, and keep up the good work!
Looks like the new DynamicResolution in pair with 30fps patch produces black screen at ultraHand ability selection circle.
Very nice

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space
