I have $340 AUD but i donno what to buy.
3DS in 2 Months?
PSP2 in 10+ Months?
Or a Pre-owner PS3 i can afford now

All my best friends have one but i have a feeling it will die out in about 2 years...
The info we KNOW about the PSP2 is scant at best. However the unknown is what really darkens the PSP2 for me. 3DS is going to be awesome, and PS3 is going to be as bad as the Wii in terms of online... I would say go with the 3DS unless more info on the PSP2 makes it more attractive.

hmm there would still be alot of ppl on ps3 online for a good 3-5 years though i think.
I'm starting to reject NGP so that's out of the picture i think.
Get the 3DS and save more money for the PSP2.
Well when i buy a big thing i don't wanna save up for another big thing i would rather just spend my money on various little things like Accesories for a game console i have

I think i will get a PS3 and then get a 3DS a while later from it's lauch.
That way i could hopefully get a Red 3DS Bundle with Mario Kart if that existed.
BTW I have been spitting at Sony for years, so what will that say if i buy a PS3 o.o

Im in the same boat as you I have $500 and i am confused between 3DS and PSP2.. leaning towards PSP2

Why is everyone even thinking about the PSP2? Seriously. Dont get me wrong, I'm not trying to troll or something like that.

Sure, the PSP2 specs made me drool and it is extremely powerful for a handheld. But that was also the case for the PSP at the time.
The PSP was far superior spec-wise to the DS. In theory it should have been better.
But look at the current situation of the PSP. It is only succesfull in Japan. It was simply crushed by the "inferior" and cheaper DS. The DS had a vast game library with a lot of gems. The PSP also had some good exclusives like Metal Gear Solid PO/PW, Patapon etc. but it just couldn't match the library of the DS. Not even a bit. (I'm a PSP and DS owner fyi)

I'm just trying to say. You could make a handheld with amazing hardware, but without games it's totally useless. DS games are cheap to develop and to produce. Development costs for the PSP were just way too high and a developer just couldn't make profit with PSP games (in the West).

I thought Sony had learned it's lesson, but I think that's not the case.
Sure, Sony is manafucterer that always wants to produce top-of-the-bill hardware (look at the PS3, it has incredible build quality and value) but in most of the cases that just doesn't work with handhelds.
Sure the PSP2 has incredible PS3-like graphics, but as of now it's just a portable PS3. Nothing original about that. And the PSP2 has a shitload of functions that'll only sky rocket the retail price. The dual analog sticks? A welcome addition that's for sure. 5 inch OLED screen? That's just amazing! 3G connectivity? Uhm, cool? But isn't it a little expensive (the 3G module and don't forget possible data costs) Touch pad? Okay, let's see how that is going to work. Gyro-sensor? No, not the Six-axis story all over again *sigh*

I just hope for Sony that development for the PSP2 isn't too expensive like the PSP at it's launch. It'll kill your third party support and therefore your game library. Those small, creative studios with potential killer games just can't acces the PSP2 and therefore they will justdevelop for the 3DS .

So I hope the PSP2's price/value is good and it'll get some unique and good games that make the PSP2 worth the purchase.

(I'm not going to choose sides however, if Sony doesn't screw up I'm buying both the 3DS and PSP2)

Some people prefer the PSP library to the DS.. I for one do

Well i am not really interested in the PSP2, i don't really think it will do good anyway.
The reason people don't buy PSP is because the Sony audience prefer to play on their big HD screens with their powerful console.
But Nintendo get lots of kids going wow mummy can i hazz that or i shall murder you, please PLEASE!!!hmm, what you looking at?
But not just kids, Old Nintendo fans or people that get interested in the idea of a touch screen.
I think i will get a PS3 though, which is very odd because i'm a Nintendo fanboy.
I think this is a great day for me, because i feel i have just stepped out of my constant fanboyism for nintendo and to explore more depth of gaming, determining what is good and why it is popular.
It feels like a great achievement.
I am getting a PS3 cause the online is very nice.
It's a great idea to message while gaming and talking with a microphone to your mates while killing some zombies on call of duty.
I still have not lost interest in the Nintendo 3DS though, i will get it someday, hopefully after mario kart is out because mario kart is the only racing game i enjoy, although i was once interested in crash tag team racing.
I have an interest to see how hacking on the 3DS gos.
Will Nintendo lose the battle or will the pirates fail?
That's what i want to know, all these deat wishes from nintendo are gonna spice everything up though.
Congrats if you read through all this.
Here's a cookie.

Buy a regular PSP so you can stop complaining about how it's so "bad" and actually realize what an amazing system it is.

Here's a list of games you should get for it to (*cough ifish *cough*)

- Persona 3 Portable
- Persona Portable
- God of War: Chains of Olympus
- God of War: Ghost of Sparta
- Patapon
- Patapon 2
- Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker (easily the best game for the system in my opinion)
- Phantasy Star Portable 2 (much better than the first game)
- Burnout Dominator
- Valkyria Chronicles 2
- Crimson Gem Saga
- LittleBigPlanet
- Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars
- Rock Band Unplugged
- Sega Genesis/Master System Collection
- Resistance: Retribution

If you're a fan of the series or genre (aka games I wouldn't suggest but other people would)...

- Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep
- Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core
- Dissidia Final Fantasy
- BlazBlue Calamity Trigger Portable
- Disgaea

And there's tons of others that are more niche games but definitely worth playing if you're into that niche.

The PSP is nice, played my friend's and Ratchet and Clank size matters is great.
One day i may consider getting the PS2, but the PSP won't be getting much more games once the PSP2 comes out so i will give the PSP a pass.

Yes it will live for a few years more.Hell the ps2 still gets games, plus the PSP2 is gonna be shit expensive so shifting production to it will be dumb

Phantasy Star Portable 2 Infinity
Persona 2 Innocent Sin
White Knight Chronicles Episode Portable.
Dissidia Duodecim [012].

Just because it's not the here and now doesn't mean you shouldn't buy it. It has great games period, I wouldn't say it matters if there's not many more great ones coming out for it (but there's still Lord of Arcana, God Eater, The Third Birthday, etc to look forward to). If it already has great ones (which it does), then it's a system worth buying.

Don't have any friends that have the PSP and go on wi-fi.
My friend with the PSP never plays his PSP and doesn't have wi-fi.
I'd prefer getting the PS3 anyway cause my 3 best buds have it and go online alot, so it will be fun playing with them.
The only games that are intersting to play on the PSP to me is Ratchet and Clank, Little Big Planet and the Media stuff sounds great.
But PS3 would be a better option so i could play Call of Duty, bigger library of ratchet and clank and even more media stuff.
Call of Duty doesn't interest me on a handheld, though i had some good fun on Black Ops DS.
One day the PSP will be extrememly cheap pre-owned so i might get it then, it's also good cause i don't have to pay for games xD

I got my PSP 1000 pre-owned for $125 on Amazon with a nice charger cable (well charger/USB hookup cable) and a 2GB memory stick.

And it's much more of a single player system anyway, not a lot of worthy multiplayer games. None of my friends own a PSP but I still love mine to death.
