Unpopular opinion, or perhaps a popular one.
I am done with purchasing product from The Pokémon Company. I am completely over this low-quality money-grab bullshit.
First - Let me make one thing clear. I still like Pokémon. I do NOT like modern Pokémon. I have a whole fucking shrine in my room dedicated to two special Pokémon (Mew + Celebi) and over the course of the past 3-4 months I've spent at least 2 grand on cards. Except, screw modern product! Lately I only purchase singles from Ebay. And, they are all Japanese at that! It's lots of fun, only hard part is spending the money, sticking to the "budget", and waiting for my parcel. I've only been purchasing older cards (up to XY-era). I also purchase vintage stickers and seals. It is not limited to TCG.
Although... I am not in any way form or fashion a fan of modern Pokémon. The artwork is bland, uninteresting, alt-arts are an absolute scam with how ridiculously low the pull-rates are. It's overpriced. All people care about nowadays is flipping product and slabbing...

What the absolute hell is up with this new game? Gamefreak? You're acting like a dweeb. get it together, you stopped being my favorite at ORAS.
Why is Pokémon, the most successful and profitable franchise in the world unable to produce quality product?
Well, the answer is this: greed. Yet another great company has been taken over by the devil himself. Here we have an A++ example of a company realizing, "Oh, we have such a loyal fanbase! We can deliver shit and they'll still buy it because they fucking love us."
I am not going to spend 7 dollars on a booster pack with off-centered, cheap commissioned artwork! I'm sorry!
Pokémon has gone to shit. And even though it's still a very important part of my life- I'm fed up. I cringe looking at the PokémonTCG reddit, seeing off-centered, mass-printed cards that people value in the hundreds. I'm tired of lovable companies being over-run by profit. I get it. I want to make money too. But maybe they (The company) should open their eyelids and see the bullshit they're producing.
Why isn't anyone caring about this? Why isn't anyone making it a big deal? IT IS A BIG DEAL. This is my hobby. I dump tons of money into it, and I get what, garbage?
Exactly Caleb. Exactly. That's exactly what the problem is. People keep buying it. When are people going to realize, an unfinished game is NOT acceptable? When are people going to realize that these companies are COMPLETLY aware of what they're pulling?
Look. That's my rant. I'm not gonna stop buying cards. But it sure as hell isn't going to be anything remotely recent. Pokémon will not directly profit off me anymore. Ebay sellers and vintage product? You are my friends.
Please let me know your thoughts. It's been on my mind a while and I just can't seem to find anyone who agrees with me. I believe my thoughts as a true Pokémon fan are justified and reasonable.
