I hate the internet

Yes I said it, I hate the internet.

I hate needing it so much.

I hate that I can't deal with not having it.

I hate that retail can't compete.

I hate that I can't be satisfied with reading anything needed to be read from a magazine.

I hate that the internet allows me to be weak and download everything.

I hate having all my TV show dangled in my face.

I hate having so much porn available that resisting it is virtually impossible.

I hate that forums are too useful.

I do wish the 70s were back.

I wasn't in need of the internet then. Finding new books on shelves was like a game in itself. It made traveling to the city a journey you looked forward to.

I was able to enjoy models more, because I was unable to realize how many more were out there. So I thought what I had was great.

I never had a credit card before the internet and I actually bought things with cash I actually had. I wasn't constantly barraged with things I don't really need, but sure can't resist.

Before the internet I had no knowledge of computer wargames and was happy to play REAL wargames.

The fucking internet is digital crack.

I pity all you younguns that can't remember the time before the internet. You will likely never know what you have had stolen from you.

Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeey
we still play wargames
D&D :D

but i do agree with you though
internet = digital crack

Brick & Mortar stores still definitely compete

Also do what I do and axe TV. Just leech the shows you want to see. Fuck wasting your life sitting through commercials. Don't allow TV to be a background noise cause it's a ridiculous distraction.

Cars are less than 150 years old and for the most part are now ubiquitous- surely a parallel can be drawn.

I hate that retail can't compete.
Having stood side by side in the great internet intellectual property flamewar and indeed reading the rest of this post this seems something of a hypocritical situation. Similarly is it all retail or just the mid range retail?

I hate that I can't be satisfied with reading anything needed to be read from a magazine.
I do not follow although I will say the superhuman intellectual feats that technology affords are not something many would forgo should they know.

I hate that the internet allows me to be weak and download everything.
Trite saying of years past "Don't hate the player hate the game" is that you?

I hate having all my TV show dangled in my face.
Save some up for later times, decide that 10 shows "back to back" is better than a week by week (plus holidays/breaks) drip feed.

I hate having so much porn available that resisting it is virtually impossible.
Get a fetish- rule 34 says nothing about volume.

I hate that forums are too useful.
To say nothing of your associates (quite literally there is no reason to) some skillsets are just that rare. Congratulations on finding something that needs them.

I do wish the 70s were back.
It could have been worse- you could have wished the 80s were back.

I wasn't in need of the internet then. Finding new books on shelves was like a game in itself. It made traveling to the city a journey you looked forward to.
I would like to introduce you to a new game- it is called generating data and using it. Despite notable attempts this internet lark is still largely static.

I was able to enjoy models more, because I was unable to realize how many more were out there. So I thought what I had was great.
In relation to the previous point model making is facing with a similarly static nature- mix it up.

I never had a credit card before the internet and I actually bought things with cash I actually had. I wasn't constantly barraged with things I don't really need, but sure can't resist.
http://www.consumerbadcreditguide.com/prep...cardcanada.html , hopefully one day someone can make something that passes for cash usable online.

Before the internet I had no knowledge of computer wargames and was happy to play REAL wargames.
Care to share the name of this magical computer game that allows for such infinite flexibility as physics?

The fucking internet is digital crack.
If we are playing analogy crack is usually a useless substance, perhaps the internet is more like prescription medications and the like- mess around and it will not end well but to return to a time before such things would be markedly unpleasant.

I pity all you younguns that can't remember the time before the internet. You will likely never know what you have had stolen from you.
I remember when i used to play outside

But then i got a laptop. then i bought my iMac. and my life was never that same

I used to hate the computer. but I'M HOOKED BABY!! and no looking back

I'm with you there brotha.

and LOL iFish, I remember when I used to play outside too. I think I was 6 when I gave that crap up.

How old are you  I ask because I saw I wish the 70's were back you must be at least 40 something I think
I hate adults who brag about how the 70's were the best.
well, at least he's saying he wishes we could have seen it, not that we're awful because we have all the new shit

I kinda wish i could have seen a time without so much technology but then I'd just want it all back after a while
probably

i do hate that so many people waste their fucking time doing nothing online, including myself
and it definitely fucks up social interaction for some people

though when I go out with friends I turn my phone off and I forget there is an internet for a few hours

I was born in the 90s. Too young to remember anything that happened then, though.
I go online every day. There's not a single day I'm not online unless I'm forced offline due to uncalled-for circumstances.
I'm obsessed. I wish I wasn't.
We are in the golden age of the internet. The prime.
Wait until 2050 when the internet matures. If you're alive, then. ;)

If an EMP bomb were to explode, I would be seriously fuc!ed.

My internet was down since last night till a few minutes ago. I was fine, went to a friend's house, did chores, watched Scrubs (and if I finished today, I still had my 52GB movie folder I recently downloaded), and some other stuff. I was fine without the web, I had nothing to laugh at. I live with 6 other people, I don't get lonely without the internet.

A**hole. ;)

OP: I think i like the way the internet is going, In some more years it'll be a essential thing like cars and so for more people.
However, I'm not old enough to say 19XX was better but i remember what i used to do before i used internet... I played videogames all the day

Nah the 70s weren't too great.

Hmm guess you didn't see the previous blog post :)

I'm from 62.

I was one of you during the 70s.

Wasn't too thrilling as a teen in the 70s, but hmmm the stuff in high school wasn't so full of shit like it is today at least. Every time I do parent teacher night I have to wonder what the fuck is going on in the heads of the board of education.

The music of the 70s was great, the movies hmm mixed feelings, there wasn't any music videos much (well they arrived late 70s).
No internet, game machines sucked ass, no really, I have no fond memories of lousy fucking Commodore 64 games.

To me the 70s was Warsaw Pact forces and nuclear war. But it wasn't all just that.

But when I wasn't stressed out about the world being blown up, it was still mostly a simpler time.

A great day was silly bugger with the gang (for those not familiar with 'silly bugger' it's basically live action First Person Shooters :) ie you dressed up and ran around in a sort of paint ball game without paint ball. Army geek stuff mostly. Swamps, combat gear, cammo clothing, rifles, but you couldn't shoot them of course (your friends would prefer it hehe). A lot of loud 'bang yer dead', which never accomplished anything :)

I think paint ball ruined a good kid game.

Riding a bike, outdoors stuff in general. Often wonder if enough kids get enough fresh air these days.

The 80s ah the 80s, tacky outfits and really cheesy music videos and everyone thought the money would just keep on coming for ever.
The 90s sure was a shock to some.
I hated 90s music, but I plain don't understand 21st century music at all.

I do think though, the internet has so badly spoiled us in so many ways. Too much of too much is available too much.
