Harassment

So I just got home after walking with my mom & dog to buy some groceries, we went walking since the vet told us our dog's kinda fat so she needs to lose some weight, since like in most place you can't enter with pets I decided to take a walk instead of just sit there and wait, while I was walking some random guy on a bicycle looked at me, smiled, and said hi, I didn't reply, but instead just looked at him with a "why are you saying hi to me you fucking weirdo", and kept walking... what's worse is that this isn't the first time something like this has happened, it's happened at least thrice in the last year... and all have been men.
I don't know if I should be worried or flattered.

Also I'm playing Final Fantasy XII International Zodiac Job System and it's freaking awesome, since they actually force you to be more creative with your gambits and skills, rather than having every character with the same ones, this too happens for the equipment, for example, before I had every character equip the best sword avaliable, but now only Vaan and Basch can use them, since I made them a Samurai and Knight respectively (I'm playing with the patch thing, FFXII's translation is just too superb to pass on, and I'm more fluent in English than Japanese anyways), so the others are stuck with other weapons.
What are you people playing?

12hour/day three person Borderlands LAN through both playthroughs and the DLC.

Just beat Knoxx and all that's left is the super secret boss.

Well, saying hi just seems to be common courtesy, or so I thought.

Um, I was just playing Left 4 Dead 2, that's my constant game. Otherwise some random DS and Wii games.

That's just people being nice. Manners aren't totally dead. It doesn't mean they want to do squishy things to you or anything. Just be thankful it's not the jackasses I see in town all the time. You so much as glance in their direction and you get the obligatory chav 'what the fuck are you looking at?Ill batter you.' comment. Of course I'm nearly 23. Much as I'd like to smack them in the face, I'll inevitably end up in trouble while they just cry and run home to mommy.

And I'm actually not playing anything for a few hours. Finished my transaction with Jamstruth so I'm hitting eBay for rare treasures. But once I've finished with that I'll be playing Megaman ZX/Advent, Ace Combat Squadron Leader, Outrun 2006, and Hogs of War on PS1.

But it isn't a normal hi, it's a hi with that pedo smile. I don't know, it's hard to describe.
@ other posters too.

And deadlocked, I don't know if you're a weirdo, to consider you one you'd have to do something like that, or something... I hope you're not though!

That shit happened a lot to me when my hair was still long. Only found it kinda annoying.

Also: Slowly playing that Miles Edgeworth game (I just beat the first case then fell asleep, and that was last week).
Not video games - playing this card game called Race to the Galaxy with my cousins/siblings over the weekend.

Nooo I never talk to any strangers and I hate it when strangers talk to me, especially drunk ones. I wish I could pick people like that up by the throat and throw them like they do in movies...

Same! I mean I know it's courtesy when people in my street say hi to me, but when some random people I've never met in my life talk to me on the street and are not asking for directions I just hate it, specially if they have that pedo smile, it makes me irritated and somewhat scared, however I wouldn't take such... radical measures.

Ugh, what ever happened to the days where saying "Hi" or "Hello" was considered a common gesture of respect and kindness, not a "HI I'M A PEDOPHILE". Today's culture is too afraid of itself. No one every branches out, no one ever offers a kind word. There was a story I heard in an assembly today about a man who committed suicide off the Golden Gate Bridge. When they searched his apartment after his death, they found his note. It was only two lines: "I'm going to kill myself. If one person smiles at me on my way to the bridge, I won't". He died.

If you really want to throw people for trying to be nice, then you have some serious issues.

Wow, that's... sad, but it's not like that, you would have had to be there to understand I guess, and besides, the "culture" in my country is different, people don't go saying hi unless they know each other, I guess we are kinda... cold? But when I see someone in trouble it's not like I ignore them or anything, I think I made the wrong impression.
