[Gaming] Don't know why Nintendo likes to ruin great games.

I've decided to give Wind Waker HD a chance and am liking it very much (was of the mindset that WW sucked because of how it looked and such but how wrong was I!) and the HD version is lovely for one minor detail... No map on the TV. It's a Zelda game so the map should always be available on the TV because I can't see the logic in looking down at the GamePad to see the map when the TV could do that just as well.

@wolf-snake too lazy? It's on the GamePad not on the TV which is essential. The butthurt with you Nintendo fanboys is enormous.

Butthurt? said the guy who can't look down a bit for a map and gets angry because he sucks so much at this game he can't properly navigate a dungeon without it.

Can't you simply just use the Pro-Controller and pause the game when you want to look at the map just like in the original WW and almost every other Zelda game?

having the map on the gamepad is probably the only thing i like about having to use the gamepad
but i hate the gamepad period
it is heavy and very uncomfortable i'd much rather use the GC controller

@mar789 No. That breaks the immersion of experiencing the game and the map in real-time because it's how the other Zelda games are, they have the map oh the bottom of the TV screen. I don't think that's asking too much but whatever.

I just stick the GamePad next to the TV and look at it that way whilst using my Gioteck GC-2. Closest thing to having the map on the bottom left of the TV.

Anyway, game's pretty easy and short. Wish it was way longer 'cause I'm almost done with it.

@Saiyan Lusitano tell me if the ending pisses you off as much as it did me.

Im sorry... but that isnt "ruined" no matter how you look at it. Its like you took the most trivial complaint and blew it up mentally until your gaming experience was unpleasant. Its not like they completely removed the map, and honestly if they didnt put the map on the gamepad, theyd have gotten bitched at for not utilizing the new hardware. Nintendo just cant win for losing with some people.

Man, i wonder why maps dont show on my eye sight all the time instead of having to look down at them on my phone.

@nickwhit There's evidently more than enough space for a mini-map so that's not a valid reason.

@WeedZ Yeah, definitely.

@WeedZ Finished it today. Finally. The game was being a lovely experience until the whole sailing crap took place and then due to the map being so blank I just couldn't figure it out for myself so had to ask help online and look up a walkthrough. I hate when it comes to this point but Wind Waker HD really left me no choice and I was tired of not knowing where to go (the fish, red lion boat and folks give hints but my patience was at the limit). Aside that, the game with its bosses was a bit too easy and the final battle with Ganondorf.. very easy too.

Something I also noticed is that the game had framerate issues and it wasn't the "stylised framerate" droppings but when there were a tad too many enemies and slashing the framerates dropped which made it look very laggy.

TPHD was a much better remaster overall and I loved it unlike WWHD.

@wolf-snake On a Wii U. Played the game on the TV and the GamePad on the left side to look at the map (to know which direction to go to).

@Saiyan Lusitano the sailing shit at the end is my least favorite. Luckily they made it a little quicker in the remake.

I was actually referring specifically to the story's ending. That's what really pissed me off after going through the entire game.

Kid, Come over here and let me tell you the tale of what Sega did to the Sonic Franchise, then you will appreciate what you have right now because trust me what I will tell you, you will be Thankful.

@PM4SWU the scene at the end of sonic adventure 2 when shadow and sonic start jerking off together pretty much sums up the direction of the sonic franchise.

G
@WeedZ It was weak. The 'best of' bosses were too easy to defeat and so was Ganondorf himself.

@PM4SWU Sonic Gens. Period.

@petethepug Already owned the Wii U before WWHD came out so figured I'd just get it anyway and I prefer new copies than used.

@Monado_III bought it. Actually bought two copies back then to see if either one had the reversible cover and then sold the spare one. Neither one had but oh well.

The bloom is annoying but I think Nintendo messed up just as much with Mario Kart 8.

Mario Kart 8 requires you to look at the gamepad to see who is in what place and to see the map. This is passable in single player but how is 4 people going to look at the gamepad when doing local multiplayer :glare:
