quit my job today

So as some of you might know, I worked on a farm. The keyword being "WORKED" in that sentence. I decided that my boss, who also happens to be my friends dad, was too much for me to handle. And by that, I mean I would have to go like a month and a half without any days off at all. Which in turns mean, no socializing, no partying on the weekends or stuff like that. This was a guy who was willing to put everybody down except himself. Somebody who would tear your head off for the smallest reason possible. And at a party tonight, I realized, working on that farm is costing me my sanity, and it wasn't a price I was willing to pay.

But nothing bad came out of it. I only made about $1000 a month working there, but I also got a job (funnily enough from the boss's son) at a mill going 40 hours a week and $18.00 an hour. Which is a ton better than $10.00. I love the job, but to be honest, it's not worth me losing my mind. For example, tonight at a party, I was thinking about everything, and then my buddy came in, and I hucked my phone at the wall, and they had no idea what was going. The screen is cracked, and there's a huge piece missing from the top of my phone, but it still works perfectly fine.

I won't be talking to the boss at all. I give up. I just simply quit, I could handle his negativity at all. And also his son's who work on the farm, all are moving out and finding new jobs, and his wife might be too. That's proof enough of how bad of a person he is. He's going to be stuck there. Do I feel bad? Yeah sure, but he's the one who brought this upon himself.

I don't know, I just wanted to ask people if they ever randomly quit a job for some personal reason where it was affecting you dramatically.

I would have done the same bro. But,no days off? This guy might really be out of his mind(respectively, cuz he's ur friends dad),thinking people will give all their time for this.

I'm currently working somewhere, I hate it, but I need a bunch of things (like a laptop for school) so I'm only working for those things, then I'll work for another 500 euros so I have money for when I need it. afterwards I'm calling it quits with working where I work now. too much pressure on me.
Is that why you lash out at people on these forums? It would explain a lot.
Maybe, who knows, only time will tell. No time off meant not having the chance to do anything, at all. I couldn't stand it anymore. But sometimes people on these forums deserve to be ridiculed, just like people would have no problem ridiculing me if I said something stupid.

ah to be young again. When i worked on farms generally you took whatever work came your way. As there are seasons. So you have no work on some seasons and Too much of it on others. I found out that the reason that my first farm boss loved me was that I didn't know he was under paying me. (by about 10 bucks an hour).
The next guy loved me due to amount of work I was willing to do. (as in the first boss didn't just underpay me he worked me hard).
A couple things I learned though...
having 5 people at such and such rate is only good if they are actually working on something all the time. where having one person do the job of 4 people can only lead to bad or unsatisfactory work.

If you can't do a good job of the job you are doing then you should find a job that really uses your talents.

congrats at realizing that your talents are better suited elsewhere.

been a cinema director for 2 years ,they cut my salary by 1/3 and i was gone like the wind there is something about signing stuff costing twice your salary and knowing if anything happens you will be blamed by the company it wasnt worthing the danger so i quit and gone now they refuse to pay my last month but in the end they will.
and in reallity i started as a proffesor of greek language 4 years in a university and logistics another 1 year and my job had nothing of them(invoices etc )
You didn't even get Sunday off? That's just silly.
No? Cows have to be milked and everything every day. Why would Sunday be any different? lol

they don't get farm work...

the whole animals need to be looked after every day thing... like themselves...
(wow that sounded cruel, but it is a good point)

I quit a job as a library stack assistant after holding that job for 2.5 years INCLUDING summer semesters (it was a 7 hours shift per day including Saturday, 5$ USD an hour)

I did so since one of the supervisors was talking shit behind my back - he was of different ethnic background from me and had issues with that (apparently its some kind of problem here which i still don't understand)

Yeah; completely normal to quit a job if you hate it IMO

Before i quit i already secured a job as a Resident Assistant in a residency hall of my univeristy, so it was all good. Joke was on them when i said "im going home to work" - ahahaha
