Some of my favorite games

So I'm going to do something differently this time. I'm going to write up a list of some of my favorite games that I've ever played. I doubt you'll like it, or even agree with it, but hey, why not. And to keep things short, I'm not going to go fully into a description. Just a few sentences. So here we go:

NES
Tiny Toon Adventures - NES : This was one of the first, and last, NES games I ever played. The graphics are nice, and it's a great platformer that resembles Super Mario World more than SMB3. The tunes are also really amazing.

Adventure Island 1 and 2 - NES : One of my favorite beloved series. I wish they still made these games. Great platformer, awesome gameplay, power ups, levels. Nothing wrong to say here, other than, they're hard to find nowadays.

Mike Tyson's Punch Out - NES: How many of us actually got to Mike Tyson?

SNES

Super Mario World - SNES: Nuff said. Moving on.

Donkey Kong Country - SNES: Fucking cart levels. Nuff said.

Super Adventure Island - SNES: I thought this was an okay entry into the Adventure Island games. But for some reason, I thought it was just too easy and the music and level design was kind of bland. But still overall fun.

Super Adventure Island 2 - SNES: Now this was a radical departure from the series, but I thought it was a fantastic game. I really liked the music and gameplay with the swords. It was more of an RPG type than anything, but nothing wrong with that. One of my favorite games.

Tiny Toon Adventures Buster Busts Loose - SNES: A much better platformer than the NES installment. It had some memorable tunes, all the characters and some amazing levels. Bosses were pretty shit, but the levels made up for it. I still have so many memories of this one level where you need to be constantly running to keep up with a train.

N64
Ocarina of Time - N64: Favorite game, nuff said.

Mischief Makers - N64: This was one of those gems that never seemed to have caught on with people. It was a great little platformer. Not as good as Mario games, but still memorable. One of the only few N64 games I remember that actually used the D-Pad.

Cruisin' USA/World - n64: Really fun racers that had a kick ass soundtrack. It was more along the lines of Outrun with just slight turns and such, but really fun.

Goldeneye - N64: Best FPS and best Multiplayer game ever. Nuff said.

GC

Smash Bros - GC: Still the best Smash Bros imo. Faster gameplay, better overall stability and controls.

Metroid Prime - GC: What the hell can I not say about this game? A fantastic title for the GC. Amazing graphics that still looks phenomenal to this day, amazing music and gameplay. Phendrana Drifts still kicks ass.

Resident Evil 4 - GC: The first time I played the title was on the GC. Scared the shit out of me. Especially that fucker that would like try to stab you and you had to freeze him to get to the elevator. Fuck I hate that guy.

PS2

SOCOM 2 - PS2: First time I played an online game. Perfect team based shooter where you couldn't just try to take the team on by yourself. You could, but it was very rare that you could actually take down four guys by yourself due the fact that your health does not respawn. And once you were killed in the game, you had to wait until next round. Sounds bad, but rounds didn't last long at all. Spent so many hours and nights and days playing this online.

Final Fantasy X - PS2: Still the best FF I think. I liked the music, voice acting was pretty bad, but first time it was done, so it's excusable. And the battle system was the best.

Dragon Quest VIII - PS2: When I first played this, I was not big into Dragon Quest at all. But I picked it up, and I was instantly glued to it. Visuals were amazing and I was in love with the combat, and Jessica was pure eye candy.

Devil May Cry 3 - PS2: First time I played a DMC game and boy did I pick the perfect time. First time I got this was for my birthday. At first I didn't get it because I was sad, and my mom didn't think it was right for me. But my dad convinced her to buy it for me, so we went to the store and bought it. When I first popped it in, mother fucker, the first level was hard. Only later did I find out that the Japanese hard mode was North America's Normal mode. But after getting through the first level, it quickly grew on me. I thought Dante was bad ass and a cool mother fucker. And the music that plays, god damn, what a way to make the character kick ass.

360

Tales of Vesperia - 360: I never played a Tales game before, but I was really digging the anime. So I went to the store and bought this blindly. And was it the right decision. Acting kicks ass, the battle system was frantic, story and music was great, and the overall characters I actually cared about. To me, Yuri should be in more games because that guy is great. I'd buy it for PS3, but alas I don't have a hacked console and can't read japanese. Fuck me. And I still think this is the best Tales game. I can't stand Tales of the Abyss on 3DS, and Tales of Graces F, I'm not that far into yet.

Lost Odyssey - 360: Another blind purchase. After I found out that it was made by Hironobu Sakaguchi and it was turn based, I went straight for it. Longest game I've ever played. I never even beat it. The battle system just destroys anything Square was able to do, the characters were great and the ministories in the game were beautiful. Definitely check it out if you can.

PS3

Batman Arkham City - PS3: Now the only reason I'm not putting AA here is because AC destroys it in every way possible. When I played this, I really thought this is what a Batman game should be. Hell this is what a Superhero game should be. Fantastic visuals, gameplay, and hours and hours of fan service packed into this, so much that I doubt you'll be able to find it all. I first played this on PC, so I'm going to say to play it on there because I think the visuals are better, but doesn't matter where you play it, just as long as you do.

Borderlands 1-2 - 360/PS3: Nuff said.

Mass Effect trilogy - 360/PS3/PC: No matter how many times I go through this game, I just always play it again and again. Fantastic story, gameplay, visuals, and characters that you care about. This is how gaming should be.

I'm going to end it here because it's getting kind of long, but the only reason why I didn't add the Wii, or games like Assassin's Creed, and such, is because everybody knows about them. Whatever game I put on the Wii, everybody's already played anyways. And to me, some of the games just aren't worth mentioning. Not to say they aren't bad, but there'd be too many.

I'll probably do a handheld list, but for now, that's all. And in case you're wondering why there's no PS1 list, its because I didn't think there were any memorable games on it. Final Fantasy VII is shit nowadays, too slow paced, Final Fantasy VIII is a cluster fuck, and I didn't like 9. The only one worth mentioning would be Crash 2 and CTR.

Why is it that everyone who played ToV first, dislikes TotA, and vice-versa?! It's weird that it's always those two being compared against each other.

Anyway, you have agreeable opinions, man.

I want to pick up a copy of DQ VIII soon ;O;

Mischief Makers was awesome.

Probably the only N64 game I actually stick with when I go back and play it. I quite enjoy it.

No idea. I never even heard of the Tales games before Vesperia. But to me, Tales of the Abyss is just abyss-mal. Crappy voice acting that makes me cringe. Extremely annoying characters, and a story that so far, is garbage.
