you replace existing files in their respective folders, and replace using cafiine :)
but you don't put all the ini files in the folder in cause why rename them in the first place there already renamed when you dumped them from FSA? still don't get it it does not mke any sense? your config folder you dumped from FSA is already named to the rom name so why change it for the rom your injecting?

sigh.

Just edit the damn ini file that is named exactly like the rom you have, from the "config" folder

Arghh, got you now, that makes sense. So all you really do is edit the correct config file that is named after your original rom/dump and put it in your cafiine folder. Why not just make it simple terms instead of going all technical.

Thats OK, sorry I have to get technical m8 just to make sure I get it right so it logs within the brain properly!. Looking forward to having a good test out tomorrow thanks. Do you find just erasing the correct ini file works the best or do you do something a bit more thorough to it?

Just keep the correct ini file, since the other one aren't even used in the replacement with cafiine :)

Edit its content like I told a post earlier. Nintendo made some .ini for us, just copy paste the strings in your rom ini, and replace the rom.

That's it!

I got Donkey Kong 64 working over Mario Golf just fine with this method ;)

in the "config" folder, there are a bunch of .ini files nintendo made for us.

Only one is used along with your rom.

the other one are useless.

BUTT

If you replace the rom, with donkey kong 64, look for the "Undoe0.556.ini" and copy its content over you "rom .ini"

simple as fuck :)

how do you know which rom goes with which ini from the net, if its named banjokazooie.n64 for example then how do you know which ini file in the config folder is for that?

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

the bing bunch of ini files in the config folder, copy the text from the ini of the game you want to play....say Undoe0.556.ini for donkey kong 64, into the ini for paper mario
so can you open the rom via notepad and just copy and paste that into the correct named ini file?

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

try to look here, for the game id:

http://www.nesworld.com/article.php?system=n64&data=n64releaselist

the game id is in the rom and .ini filename ;)

"NDOE" is Donkey Kong 64 US gameid.

Got it? ;)
so if banjo is>NUS-NBKP-EUR which one would that be say for an example? would it be this one> Unbkj0.292

Just one last thing, you only need to put that 1 changed file into the config folder in your rom folder I presume? you do not need the rest.
exactly, just use you .ini file used by the VC rom

I know why I have checked the notepad++ out for Banjo Tooie, it reads Jap version at the top. I bet if it was the euro version or usa version, it would work all OK, have a look yourself.

Banjo 2 jap is not tooie :)

The game id is banjo kazooie ;)

also, I dumped my kirby squeak squad fsa, and it got a rom.zip too.

But, it seems that the file inside is more or less the same as a nds file!

It does indeed have some changes, but overall, it's the same, bytes by bytes!

I'll investigate this one.
