So a bunch of general news and things, 3DS version Summer 2014, WiiU Winter 2014, and two new characters announced, Charizard and Greninja. Oh, and Yoshi finally confirmed. And customizable movesets for offline.

Did I miss Ness/Lucas or he won't show up? :C
No, he just wasn't there. Ness has been in every Smash so far though, so chances are he'll turn up eventually. Not to mention they might be keeping a couple characters secret for the actual game.

They announced a bunch of stuff, but only revealed Charizard Stand-alone version and Greninja as Playable Characters....
I bet it is the end for the Pokémon Trainer/Red, huh.

Yeah... but they showed the main cast from the old games and since Ness isn't here, I found weird...
Well, Earthbound/Mother still needs a representantion(Heck, even Wii Fit got on...)
Also I think it is a bad move to release the 3DS version first... Wii U is needing more support and some parents will go "I am not buying the same game again!" if they buy the 3DS version. :/

Oh my god my heart skipped a beat during that Direct. I don't know about you guys but I'm hyped as fuck now.

Things I just need to get out, Final Destination looks absolutely beautiful and the soundtrack sounded fantastic.

Haven't you heard? That's Nintendo's Wii U marketing strategy.

"Let's release this on 3DS, then put a more expensive version of what is essentially the same game with different levels on the console that nobody has! Then they'll have no other choice to buy both of them! Mwahahahaha! Oh, wait it didn't work. Let's try it again!"

Case in point:

Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D - Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze
Mario Kart 7 - Mario Kart 8
Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate (3DS) - The exact same game (Wii U)
New Super Mario Bros. 2 - New Super Mario Bros. U
Pokemon Rumble Blast - Pokemon Rumble U
Super Mario 3D Land - Super Mario 3D World
Super Smash Bros. 3DS - Super Smash Bros. U
Yoshi's New Island - Yarn Yoshi

There are probably more that follow this same pattern.

I wouldn't get too excited about Megaman. You know how Capcom responds to such things.

seriously they keep doing that
i mean I guess it's because they are testing how popular the new game will be on the 3ds first but that's a bad
idea now since wii u needs more support
then again a lot of those games came out before wii u came out

don't forget Resident (fucking) Evil Revelations..who marketed it as a TWEEE DEE ESS EXCLUESSIV only to find out they just used the 3DS just as a soak test to see if the game would sell well, then the ported it over to Wii-U and other consoles and told the 3DS to eat a dick in regards to DLC and future support.

On Topic: I heard that there is talks of not including Yoshi other classic characters in this...if they leave out ONE single classic smash bros character (n64), or expect me to pay for them..I will not be buying it. There is no excuse for this at all, "time constrants" or not. And with Namaco bandai at the reigns, you can expect there is going to be DLC, buttfuckery

I guess the Wii U version got bundled with The Waiting Game.

Seriously, though, it seems like a pretty weird decision to have the two versions launch so far apart. I get that Nintendo wants a big holiday release for the Wii U, but I don't think leaving the system in the lurch until then (give or take a Mario Kart) is the way to go. Plus, having the game out for so long on the 3DS is certainly going to chip away at any hype for the console version. If anything, you'd think they'd want the Wii U version out first, since that's the console they actually desperately need to sell right now.

I'm trying to understand, Iwata, but I just can't.

I really like Naruto-Frog. Its grown to be my 2nd favourite starter.
I cant wait to expand my 3DS game collection from 4 to 5 with this. :yay:
Its a summer release too, where i'll be free from all exams and not give any fucks.

I rather enjoy a life of taking it easy. I haven't reached that life yet though.
