WUPServer is also used for modding, with WUPServer you can replace files in the games with modified ones.

The other way to install mods is to make a fake update containing all the modified files, but that takes up extra space. (For example a update to undub Xenoblade Chronicles X is around 5GB)

@dimok for this new thing, if we go into settings and out, will it reboot to patched sysnand or regular sysnand?

Also, are the patches permanant?

I like SIOUX personally. Short and simple name.

For those that don't get it, that's Sitting Bull, a chief from one of the Sioux tribes

Is it possible do this with just basic homebrew on the browser? Also should I do the one that returns me to the HBL or the one that returns me to the system menu?

any possible way to keep patches installed? anyways I have issues trying to run the hb channel. it either hangs on the screen it self (choosing menu version) or hangs on a black screen (hbl reload version) is there something I missed?

You can install it and it will be their after reboot but you can't launch it without sigs patched

hmm
im prety sure that is no completely accurate.
you need sig patch to install apps, games and etc
but not to run games or apps like homebrew
once they are installed they should boot normally.
at least that is the impression i got
ill do some testing maybe tomorrow

Will the wupserver automatically get started after executing this new iosuhax thing? Or how can I start the server?

And where do i get the wupclient from? After compiling dimoks code from iosuhax repository there is only the wupserver, but no client.

Hoping to be not off topic.
Is it possible to put this elf on a custom folder of sysnand and use haxchi to coldboot it without a SD card?
In this way each time WIIU starts, it is always patched

I got a 32Gb wiiU with MK8 pre-installed and a bunch of games on USB via 'brazilian method'
could I d/load DLC, launch this and then install with wupinstaller and then play d/loaded DLC ?

Ah yes. Sorry I forgot about the vWii mode completely. It was quite simple to fix. Here are all the binaries from before with the vWii mode fixed:
http://www14.zippyshare.com/v/c8zdQFgw/file.html

That is actually not that easy as the boot0/boot1 chain only boots signed code. If we modify the code the signature check will fail. For now the only option is to use the contenthax exploits.

Thank you very much for your work!

May I suggest that the first post is updated? :)

Apparently it will start to get harder and harder to get the correct binary soon enough =]]

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".

It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.
  • AncientBoi @ AncientBoi:
    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

  • cearp @ cearp:
@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
