The whitelist is still necessary. But he has to uninstall the current TWL_FIRM and install an older TWL_FIRM in order to get the card to work.

So another downgrade is require but I wont be able to help you eorido since I don't know the title required and I assume this one is different per console region, maybe Apache Thunder can help you I remember he talked about that before

you can downgrade TWL_FIRM (0004013800000102) to the one from 2.x (version number 1489) download with 3DSNUS install by deleting the existing TWL_FIRM via FBI then installing the old one.....or maybe just see if GW will allow you to just install a older version over the new one like how MSET downgrade works with the specific version of devmenu

PS dont try going to the one from FW 1.x (v432) it wont work on newer firmwares, but v1489 works fine

Just tried and GW with DevMenu allow direct downgrade, , like other titles (MSet and Whitelist), reboot fine, no problem.

Yeah I tried on my O3DS XL not my N3DS XL since I was not sure, forgot to told, my bad.

I do not have hard mod on my N3DS so I won't do any "brickable" thing on it without solid proof

nope TWL_FIRM only effects how DS games work....worst case would be it might cause issues with some NDS games, but from my experience it doesn't cause any adverse effects

*but as always have a nand backup....you know just in case, as there is always a element of risk installing anything to sysnand

Here we go :
1- Use 3DSNUS to download title 0004800F484E4841 in version 0 and title 0004013800000102 in version 1489. No spoof = DevMenu and GW. If not, then spoof version 0 one to a really high number (60250 for example).
2- So I recommend using GW with DevMenu.3ds to install both generated cia directly to SysNAND. (Done then, go to 5)
3- If you don't have DevMenu, BEFORE installing CIAs, first use FBI (available on this forum too) to uninstall title 0004013800000102 (TWL_FIRM), not sure BigBlueMenu will be able to uninstall it.
4- Now install both CIAs with FBI or BigBlueMenu.
5- Reboot and enjoy

Forgot to add that, as gamesquest1 said, downgrading TWL_FIRM (0004013800000102) on NEW 3DS with version from OLD 3DS may cause somme issues so until someone with NAND mod willing to try this out, don't do it, even if it's only affect DS games btw. Whitelist (0004800F484E4841) can be replaced safely on any devices.

it depends if it was blocked in the whitelist (blacklist), or in twl firm.
if it was simply only blocked in the whitelist, then sure, you will be able to get it back

I discovered that the problem with my gateway blue not working is related to contact issues, indeed a friend of mine's one works just fine with my N3DS. The R4i 1.4.1 probably has the same problem or it was blocked in TWL_FIRM, can someone confirm it? Moreover I read here that someone made his gateway work resolving the contact issues by putting a piece of paper inside it. Can someone send a picture of this fix please?

I can't download these titles because 3DNUS stops, saying:

Error downloading title 0004800F484E4841 v0 make sure the entered title ID and versions are correct.

How did you manage to get it working?
