I concur, but can I ask a question?

Besides the game, what do I use to patch the game? R4i Save dongle?

...i won't answering that :)

Please be patient untill the exploit gets released (which could take month or even be ''never'' when people still asking for "Insider Informations".

Once the 3DS Exploit is released there are 3 Possible Directions this can take

1. Homebrew Playable
2. People exploit it more and Open it up to Piracy
3. Nintendo Patches it Instantly and No More Exploits are ever found and the 3DS Remains Unhackable as it has been for the last 2 Years (That is atleast until someone Hijacks into the Update server's and releases CFW)

Firstly, we know they have "kernel access", so when more is known, the hardware is the limit. 1. Will be true, 2. It will most likely be open to loading ROMs already, 3. Patches could be found, but they can't make their console invincible. Also, the update servers hold encrypted firmwares that are useless to us.

The Firmware may be Encrypted
Doesn't mean its Unhackable
Some Ultra Omega Super Genius May Hack it Lol Doubt it though

The only way one could break the encryption is if one finds the key to unencrypt the file. This key would have to be found somewhere, via leak or brute force (practically impossible)

Not the carts, but the 3DS. However, common keys would be a 3DS specific solution. I have suspicion that since the ARM 9 handles the AES/RSA engine is ran on there, the key may be stored somehow in the SoC. That would require a decap, which is being funded via donations right now. It wouldn't be viable for the everyday person, so a exploit would be needed that could be ran by the mass majority.

Edit: Via the exploit now, I. Pretty sure the guys doing all of this have dumped their common keys already.

Guess we don't need to worry about the big N reading through this thread. They would get half way through you guys bickering, stop from sheer boredom or knowledge disbelief. < ya thats a thing> btw this forum is nice I might just plant my feet here. So excuse me for being a " nub", or what's that severely over used word, noob is it? But from my understanding by reading this is that it's a save data exploit, it's a card based exploit, but also may have an Eshop version or that's confirmed?

WOW 66 vunerable games? These guys are obviously the 3DS homebrew pioneers. And I can't do crap 0.0 .

[22:10] <Roguezz> i knwo you can't overclock it without modding the kernel
[22:10] <Roguezz> but what's with the arm9?
[22:11] <yellows8> the arm9 is the security core, handles AES/RSA engine, etc.
[22:11] <Roguezz> And you need to access that to make a CFW as well...?

[22:12] <yellows8> uhh you need the FIRM RSA private key for that...
[22:13] <Roguezz> And the arm9 controls the RSA right?
[22:13] <yellows8> yes

arm9 controls AES/RSA?
...

So software can modify whether or not it uses WPA or WEP?
Software can be Modified Hardware can Not Be Modified

Which means if the exploit were to be found within the Hardware Nintendo would be to put it simply.... fucked
Unless the released an Updated 3DS Model (Which is what they would probably do) Probably the 3DS MkII lol

they need to have a strong line up on the launch titles too. I think they should move metroid prime 4 to the next console because by now it has been quite a while and there's no release date scheduled yet

  • realtimesave @ realtimesave:
well as far as metroid prime 4 is concerned, the next system probably is similar enough to the current gen they can probably easily just slap it onto a next gen cart and call it good :P
