I can't go to that link Earthbound I'm at work and gaming pages are banned. Though for some reason I can still come here...

Here's the pic from that website:

Just buy a Blaster 360. You open it once, then you do the rest straight from this little hump thing on your 360. I use it all the time, and I used it to play Halo within minutes. Also, if you get the newest Booter firmware, you don't need to worry about getting banned from XBL.

That's only good for the old dvd drives, the new drives (BenQ and Hitachi v79) will need opening the dvd drive and soldering a Passkey(Hitachi) or a switch (Ben-Q).

Well now I don't know for sure the Samsung and BenQ look very similar I would need to check on my actual 360 to know for sure.

If you guys care that much I'll check but otherwise I'll probably forget when I get home tonight!

My refurbished 360 came with Samsung drive, so I'm gonna flash it.

I read the Blaster 360 installation guide, and very clueless about why I would need it, just flash the drive with iExtreme and I'm good to go, no?

No you don't need it, pretty sure the only reason to have it is so that you don't have to keep opening your 360 everytime you want to update the firmware.

Thanks aslacker55

I opened my 360 up, I got stuck at torx screws. I have 2 torx screw heads but both of them are too big. Gotta go buy smaller ones, T7 and T10.

And I'm not certain my mainboard SATA chipset is VIA, it's
ASUS A8N-SLI DELUXE 939 NVIDIA nForce4 SLI.
I'll hook it up to see if it recognizes my Toshiba Samsung drive, don't wanna spend extra bucks, hopefully I'll be done with modding this weekend.

@SylverReZ, I dislike the kind of drm where you have to play single player games online all the time bc of some verification bs

@Xdqwerty, Don't use games that have Easy Anti-Cheat as its been exploited many times.

@SylverReZ, I also heard one of the Prince of Persia games was so unfinished that it required the "24/7 online" drm so a puzzle could be done and the game could be finished. And that when the Ubisoft servers were closed the (cracked) game was impossible to finish or something like that
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, That's extra scummy. Ubisoft nowadays ship out incomplete games like Skull and Bones which was being worked on for nearly a decade now.

@SylverReZ, i think they have been doing that since late 2000s

Either that or their old games were unfinished aswell but we can't notice it

I like that games can be fixed after the fact, hate that it's being abused via beta tests... And DLC... I was a 7800 owner back in the day and loved Impossible Mission, turns out I couldn't beat it because it was actually impossible lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I never knew about it at the time but a fixed version was available but you had to mail in your broken copy lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
So that version is semi rare
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@Psionic Roshambo, I have a rom of the ds version of impossible mission
