Gaming Mario Kart 8 to be getting a major patch plus free DLC on August 27th

Gotta agree with blade. The infinite 1-ups trick in Mario games was a glitch at first but Nintendo acknowledged it and began including it intentionally as a reward for more skilled players. There is a difference between that and Fire Hopping.

The primary difference between infinite 1-ups and fire-hopping is that Mario is single-player, more recently with co-op elements, while Mario Kart is a multiplayer competitive game. On that same token, fighting games that have infinite combos have those infinites banned in official competitions, and abuse of said infinites in friendly play is considered bad sportsmanship.

Nintendo was kind of locked down in the past for not being able to patch games, so any subsequent revision of a game couldn't be allowed to interfere with the core experience of said game. Now that online patching allows everyone to be on the same page with a game version, we might actually see Nintendo crack down on more exploits, like the Maka Wuhu skip in Mario Kart 7.

snaking is still in mk8 i can do it. fire hoping IS A GLITCH it will be patched.

Learn how to do it? I don't get why this is a problem it isn't game breaking and it is very simple to learn it is way easier than snaking in MKDS

The only valid arguments about snaking is in Mario Kart Double Dash and Mario Kart DS. In Mario Kart Wii, Mario Kart 7 and Mario Kart 8, it takes time to charge instead of just rocking the controls back and forth for half a second. Snaking is useless in Mario Kart now.

I totally forgot about this, i hope they fix that because its stupid and lazy the way they designed it.

So lets say you were playing 3 player, you wanted to arrange it so 2 people played on the tv and one player played the gamepad. Can you do that? No. Not only can you not do that, the 3 player box splitscreen on the tv is also copied on the gamepad..

I have I got 3 stars on all cups before I even knew what it was lol I don't understand why you can't take seriously like 5 minutes to learn how to do it. I don't use it against friends obviously but against computers I don't give a shit lol

And this ladies and gentlemen, is a fine example of being a SCRUB. And besides, I do that move, too, and that still doesn't guarantee me being placed on top, mainly because of being hit multiple times by other players.

Fire Hopping is blown way out of proportion.
It's a minor advantage for those who master it.
Though my problem with it is that you need to be a basement dweller in order to master it.

Nope, not really, that's not a valid comparison at all.

It is really that easy lol If you don't know how to do a dragon punch motion and constantly die from a spammer people call it cheap. This is something people call cheap but is really that easy to learn how to do.
