Rydian, you've just gained one more fan (i'm sure you've got many of them :P) I am eager to try the process. Just waiting my microSD adapter.

Now, does anyone know if there's a risk of bricking my PSP 3010 FW 6.60 if I try the permanent mode?

If you're using an adapter for a CFW installation you may well run into problems. Because of the IPL partitioning and Magic Gate checks it often causes errors when people try which is why owning a proper Pro Duo is highly recommended, especially for installs.

As for a permanent CFW on a 3000...not possible and will definitely brick if you try. The only option is a "permanent" on 6.20 but honestly it's not worth the worry....just use Sleep mode and hard reset occasionally.

My adapter is a Photofast dual something... Can i trust it, guys?

It's not Pro-B or PRO-C or whatever, it's 6.60/6.20. The 6.20 perm works on any model that you can install the 6.20 on, but the 6.60's perm only works on the earlier models.

I don't recommend adapters in general since they can cause all sorts of issues (especially since if you just ordered that photofast recently it's almost guaranteed to be a knockoff since they haven't been produced in years).

So do you think the downgrade to 6.20 is less worth/less practical than using the momentary Fast Recovery method?

Also, this "knockoff", could it damage my portable or simply it would not work? What do you think?

Can i try downgrading from 6.60 to 6.20 without fearing to brick the PSP? Thanks guys

Personally i wouldn't bother worrying about a downgrade to 6.20...in real terms the benefits are minimal, and if you have any siblings who might pick up your PSP then the OFW/CFW divide might even prove beneficial. The fast recovery takes moments and if you utilise the PSP's sleep mode then you'll seldom need to use it.

A knockoff is unlikely to do any damage to your hardware but consider how annoyed you'll be when all your saves corrupt, FMV's stutter or it just dies randomly. Those things aren't guaranteed with an adapter, but equally they almost certainly won't happen with a genuine Pro Duo.

Every downgrade risks a brick even if that risk is small. Furthermore the odds are that you'll get a 3000 that won't natively run 6.20 so you'll need to use a downgrader that brute forces it to 6.20 which in my book is even more reason not to bother. In addition downgrading/firmware installs will probably fail anyway if you try using a memory stick adapter.

Memory stick adapters are fine as a second option but if you don't have a real Pro Duo i'd wager you'll run into issues of some form sooner rather than later.

can 6.20 pro cfw permanant patched psp 3004 be unbricked? I dont know why but the recovery mode does not work :(

It doesn't matter what firmware a PSP 3000 or Go is running (or latter day 2000)...if it's been bricked it's gone...there's no coming back.

How did you "brick" it? Why do you think it's bricked? The only option you have is to take the battery out for a couple of hours and then after that time has elapsed replace it and see if it works.

I removed the vshmain file and changed it to another trying to install a plugin.

It's now an Ex-PSP...it's not just sleeping...

Never mess with Flash0 if you're not ABSOLUTELY certain you know what you're doing.
