Does anyone know if Elite works on any Retroarch cores? I tried it using the NES emulator but was unsuccessful and was wondering if there was a way to run it without it being glitched out.

Try grabbing my Core Set, just listed above, install either RetroArch...and, then command line the game to /bin/nestopia OR /bin/fceumm That will give you two ways of trying to run it. I am pretty sure it works on one of them.

UPDATE 11-30-17

Thanks to DanTheMan827 and madmonkey, per usual, a tremendously beneficial Update to USB-HOST! There is now a third way to install/uninstall HMODS! This third method also keeps your NESC/SNESC untethered to Hakchi1/2. You will, of course, still need to use hakchi2 if you want to uninstall to stock, and hakchi1 if you want to Update to the latest Revisions! CheatSheet has brief run down of the new transfer method. I also recorded and posted another video showing it in action! Otherwise, I also updated MAME 2003 (Again, more Sega Fixes, along with trackball patches for Cabal, Improved Sample Sounds for Donkey Kong/Donkey Kong Jr., Fire Barrel & FixEight now work. Additionally, I updated MAME 2010 (some improvements to display aspect ratio), GW (button mapping fixes, sound loop corrections, transparency issues), FBA 2016 (Save Bug Fixes for Violent Storm and Metamorphic Force), TGBDual (Fix of G++ Compile error that kept it from working on NESC/SNESC; Now it is properly Updated to current version!), Genesis Plus GX (Various Fixes), Fuse.

I also added a new Core, xrick, which plays a fantastic clone of Rick Dangerous!

Finally, I cleaned up things a bit, and updated Core Info Files, etc!

Here is a video of the Revised Tutorial for USB-HOST, along with the third method of HMOD installs/uninstalls in action:)

And, today's Update:)

Is there still a limit on the amount of mods you can install?

Your Nand Flash Memory, just like on hakchi2:) NES Classic generally has about 330 Mb give or take, and SNES Classic 250 Mb give or take. Don't go overboard! You can do every Core you want, and then some! But, if you start throwing MAME 2014, MAME 2010, and all that jazz, you may want to be just a little more selective with how crazy you go:) I installed a ton, and had no issues, whatsoever.

Cool thanks man, any limit on how many you can transfer at once using this new method?

I didn't push it. But, 60 Mb is still likely a hard limit. So, if you were installing MAME 2014, you might want to do it, by itself. I usually do HMOD Transfers in 60 Mb or less at a time. I always have. You can cover a lot of ground that way, unless doing the Arcade Cores:) Those, are best left installed individually, especially the later year ones.

Yeah I think I'm going to leave out the MAME 2010/14 cores when I actually get settled in with the USB mod to the point where I'm using it regularly. Thanks again for all your hard work!

I personally use MAME 2003 for a majority of Arcade Games. But, throwing in FBA 2016 wouldn't hurt, as you'd still have room for most other Cores you want.

and what does this compress the save states down to ? What are they without this mod ?

IIRC the savestates should be compressed in 7z format... the uncompressed savestates use about 2.1-2.2 MB each, the compressed savestates use about 200-250 KB each...

How does the extra_space mod work exactly ? How much space does installing this mod take up ? Also, the readme for the extra_space mod says very experimental. This makes me a bit scared.

In my experience, the extra_space mod works very well... this module moves the savestates storage in an unused partition of the NAND memory (so all main free NAND memory can be used to load the games)*. This extra partition is about of 50 MB (this mean that without the savestates compression mod you can store about 22-23 savestates, while with the savestates compression mod you can store about 200-220 savestates).

*Usually in the main partition are stored the added new ROMs (games) and the savestates, if you use the extra_space mod the savestates are not longer stored in this partition, but only in the extra partition.

the madmonkey module installs, when you do the normal process. If you UNINSTALL ALL, as I show in the video, you will need to Re-Add
madmonkey-modules-3.4.112.hmod to a the custom made /hakchi/transfer folder, so that it can properly reinstall:) You can also use hakchi1, and rebuild+memboot to reinstall it. But, if you want to stick with flash drive for install/uninstall, you will need to copy that specific Module, anytime you do a complete HMOD uninstall, as I did in the video. I will Update other ways of uninstalling HMODS. But, for now, this is a straight cut and dry, very easy way of doing it:)

So, again, madmonkey-modules-3.4.112.hmod is ALWAYS needed, in order to properly run USB-HOST with Flash Drive, etc. You can throw whatever other Cores, tiny7z, clovercon-usb, etc, in there, as well...to install those:)

Sweet thanks. Since I'm going to be using folders I figured I'd just be using the SNES storage strictly for mods. Those mame2010 and 2014 cores though man....

jepp i test it and it works fine.

i had a wish!
the configs of retroarch should be save on the usb stick when someone use the usb mod.
that would prevent that the configs could be delete with retroarch deinstall

This is just temporary, til you guys and gals get accustomed to the process. I will Update with Manual Uninstalls, so that you can leave RetroArch, madmonkey's hmod, etc, alone. I just don't want to make it too complicated, yet:) We will get there, very soon! Probably within next update or two:)

For me IT would only save the retroarch configuration on USB .
That would be for ne enough because then are the settings save when retroarch is uninstall or the system flash to original or new versions

You can manually change this in retroarch... I did with retroarch saves...

I made a folder in the saves folder for retroarch..

Would anybody use a boot image on their NES/SNES classic?
Tried sending pm but dumb me can't seem to figure out how but I would be interested in testing this. I am interested in how you created the image as I have disabled the current boot splash but have yet to figure out how to edit it.
