Hello there
I remember I got it twice in one week, so I went to the Nintendont thread to ask what is the actual setup to make this happen.
One person told me that maybe I imagined that it happend and nothing beyond that really advanced and I got no answer.
It didn't happen at all for the past month or two, but today I got it again, so I made a video proof.
My setup didn't change at all. The only thing I changed is my save file to play 20XXTE with the latest UCF mod for Melee. But I already played with it with the same setup.

So, to my setup:
Black 32GB Wii U, Nintendont channel in Wii U menu (the latest one on Wii U USB Helper), vanilla SSBM ISO on SD card with a 20XXTE v2.d rev 3 save file.
Launched from Wii U menu, Gamepad controls mod, Gamepad only display, GCC adapter pluged in both of the back ports with a white new SSB White GCC.

Did anybody else get it? Is there any consistent method for doing it? I think if it's possible, so there's something to be discovered.

The actual video proof:

As far as I know, if you say no to use the gamepad as a controller, you can then use USB controllers such as the gamecube adapter or PS4 remote. But if you say yes to use the gamepad as a controller, any USB controller can only act as player 2. Though I have 0 experience with this, just a theory. I always just play with the gamepad for a handheld experience.

Well I did it at one point, but none of the controllers worked at all
Although what I'm trying to get here is making both work; for GCC I'll use my PC/vWii forwarder

usb was never really stable, I know for some people it always meant trouble, if you didnt know you can hotplug usb controllers so maybe after booting try then plugging in the usb controllers, that may work or lead to a freeze, I really have no clue as to why its so glitchy for some people and works every single time for others.

what version of nintendont do you have? im guessing you have an outdated dol, for me on 481 i can use gamepad as controller one and gc adapter for controller 2 to 4 just fine.

i remenber being ssbm mod that had sme issues with nintendont, maybe you have a corrupteed ontroller.ini on your sd card root?
