Figure News: Certain Amiibo will not last forever

You forgot that Rosalina & Luma (it's one amiibo) is exclusive to Target.

Oh is it? I continually saw varying sources so I didn't include it. I'll add it to the list later after I find some More confirmation.

I really like how Nintendo is handling these Amiibo. Lots of people are claiming these are price gougers, but I'm not so quick to agree. Unlike Skylanders or Disney Infinity where you HAVE TO get all the figurines you want because they are pretty much mini DLC unlocks, the Nintendo Amiibos really don't unlock anything gameplay-wise.

Really, you aren't supposed to collect them all. You're only supposed to buy one - your favorite character.

I've seen these articles popping up time and again, but it's all very conflicting. Sources continually state they are or are not receiving any more Amiibo's and until I see definitive restock of the 3 Amiibo's mentioned earlier, I'm taking that news with a grain of salt.

Villager seems to be the one that goes on stock for a couple mins and then off, I guess the Villager figure is pretty popular.

Well, it looks like Nintendo might not be discontinuing anything AT THIS POINT!

Both NOA and NOE released official statements regarding the issue. NOA is vague though..

It's limited/collector items like this make me glad that I never really got into it, I just buy the games, the collectible figures like this are just..I mean, I really don't see why it's the newest rage. I honesty am baffled. That's just me though. People will price gouge on eBay as people are wont to do, that's to be expected.

It is not technically official until Target posts their wave 3 pre-orders, but we know that Rosalina and Luma are an exclusive wave 3 amiibo, and all of the other potential exclusive retailers have already posted their wave 3 pre-orders. Target is the only one left. Target and Nintendo have been in bed for decades, bringing limited edition systems to the Target stores.

But you are correct in that there will not be official confirmation until Target posts their wave 3's.

I actually recently got my hands on a target exclusive StarFox bobblehead, which is the only existing starfox figure besides the AMIIBO

LOL...I've got to hand it to nintendo marketeers: they're playing it right this time. I never understood that wii fit character in the first place, let alone a figurine.

The dialogue is a bit like this:

Nintendo: okay...here are some popular characters in plastic. And some nobody cares about.
Audience: *purchases some popular characters, ignore the others*
Nintendo: nice. Since nobody seems to care about some characters, we'll discontinue those.
Audience: NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! *immediately starts buying those; price increase*


Granted, it's a bit more complicated than that (like some figurines being exclusive to some warehouses), but it doesn't make it less amazing that they can pull this stuff off. Nintendo fans may not be that large in numbers compared to overall video gamers, but they're loyal to an almost retarded level.

So I've had a growing number of people pm me saying that the Amiibo's are not discontinued for blah blah empty reason.

I took the liberty of scanning some locations at target "since I work there" in order to prove my point, and at the same time, actually discovered some interesting news.

As you can see all aforementioned Amiibo's are DISCONTINUED.

However in scanning some other locations I also found out that both Samus and Fox have now been labeled Discontinued as well.

I think I just accidentally discovered the next AMIIBO to be discontinued :o
